Mrs. Nancy Wike Smith

  Mrs. Nancy Wike Smith, widow of George D. Smith, deceased, died at 
her home at Martinsburg at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from a 
complication of diseases with which she had been ailing for the past 
several years.  Her condition had been serious for the past several 
weeks.  Deceased was a daughter of Henry and Nancy Wike, deceased, and 
was born on November 29, 1840, on Piney Creek, and had resided all her 
life in the southern end of the county.  She was a member of the 
Lutheran church, was held in esteem and respect by those who shared her 
acquaintance and is survived by the following children:  Elizabeth K., 
Mrs. Charles Shriver, David, Calvin, George, Preston, all of 
Martinsburg; Harry W., of Shelleytown; Irvin, of Altoona; James, of 
Roaring Spring and Mrs. Mary Hughes, of Everett.  She is also survived 
by one brother, Michael J. Wike, of Tyrone, and a sister, Mrs. 
Magdelene Thompson, of Clappertown.  The funeral took place Saturday 
morning at 10:30 o'clock.  Interment was made in Fairview cemetery at 
Martinsburg.
