Elizabeth Smith December 13,1945 McCrory Leader

Last rites for Mrs. Elizabeth Smith were held Sunday afternoon at 
3 o'clock at the Pumpkin Bend Cemetery by Rev. C. D. Stone of the 
Missionary Baptist Church, of Roe assisted by Rev Lono Marlin of 
McCrory, about two hundred friends and relatives attended.

Mrs. Smith was born Nov. 11 1875, near Tilton, in Cross County, a 
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bose Key, and spent the greater 
part of her life near McCrory. She was married Aug 24,1897, in 
Pumpkin Bend to Mr. Elige Smith, who survives her. She also leaves 
four sons Jim C., Claude T., Luther L., and Tommy R.,all of McCrory. 
One brother Ernest Rhodes, of Hunter and a host of friends. For 47 
years she was a member of the Methodist Church which she joined in
1898. She was also a member of The Raney Burial Association. 

Burial was in charge of Funeral Director Walter W. Raney, of McCrory.
