Wanda Dora Malone Buckner
American Fork, UT-Wanda Buckner, our fun and spirited wife, mother and
grandmother, slipped from this world into the loving arms of her mother,
Mildred Dora Shepherd, and sisters, Jean Crawford (Frank) and Talberta Ward, on
Monday, January 6, 2014.
Wanda’s contagious laughter will be missed by her husband, Robert Louis
Buckner, brother, Talbert (Patty) Malone, her children, Robert (Marilyn)
Buckner, Brenda (Greg) Beckstrom, and David (Nita) Buckner, and many
grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Wanda was born on March 1,1933 in West Fork, Arkansas. She married Robert Louis
Buckner on January 28, 1951 and together they raised three children. On July
30, 1966, the Buckner family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints. Wanda soon became an expert in genealogy. She dedicated her life to the
cause, spending thousands of hours researching hers and others’ family trees.
We can only imagine the concourses of angels that have anxiously awaited her
return to thank Wanda for her life-long service.
Wanda was proud to be a ‘tough old bird’, and a ‘wise old woman of the
mountain.’ She loved animals and they loved her. From giving CPR to squirrels,
to saving abandoned cats and dogs, we are certain she will be surrounded in
heaven by the animals she saved and loved.
Funeral services will he held on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 10:00 AM, at the
LDS Church located at 2805 N Dixieland Rd, in Rogers, Arkansas. A viewing will
precede the funeral at the same location at 9:00 AM.
Flowers and condolences can be sent to Rollins Funeral Home at 1401 Hudson
Road, Rogers, Arkansas 72756.
