Death Comes to John T. NEAL

Funeral services were held at the Colony cemetery near Morganton Sunday
afternoon May 11, for John T. Neal, age 61, who died suddenly at his home
here the preceeding day.  Although he had not enjoyed the best of health
for sometime his death was unexpected and a shock to his family and many
friends.

Funeral services were in charge of the Rev. G. W. Norman, Baptist minister.

The deceased was born at Morganton, Van Buren county March 8, 1871.
He grew to manhood there later moving to Mt. Pisgah where he was married
to Miss Florence Hughes September 9, 1901.  To this union five children
were born, all of whom survive.

Mr. Neal was converted and joined the Baptist church at the age of 18 and
remained a faithful member during his entire lifetime.  He was an honest
upright citizen who enjoyed the confidence and respect of everyone who knew
him.  He was a deoted husband and father and a kind and considerate neighbor
whose passing will be greatly felt not only by his loved ones but by his many
friends who had come to know him so well during his few years residence here.

In addition to his widow he is survived by four sons:  Allen NEAL, of Arizona;
Vernon, Howard and Billy HALE of Heber Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Homer BITTLE
of Heber Springs, two grandchildren and three brothers, Allen NEAL of Morganton,
William NEAL of Kensett, Charles NEAL of Van Buren county and one sister,
Mrs. G. F. COLSTON of Oklahoma.

Interment was in the Colony cemetery near Morganton in charge of the Olmstead
Funeral Home.
