Carl Campbell, age 69, died at his home here at 2106 Campbell Drive Friday
morning about 10: 30. Although he had suffered with a heart condition, his death
came suddenly and without warning. Mr. Campbell was born here in St. Francis
County, west of Caldwell on October 07, 1904 and was the son of Fannie Haynes
Campbell and William J. Campbell and was a lifelong resident of the Forrest City
area. He was a member of First Baptist Church here; was a retired farmer: and a
32nd degree Mason. Mr. Campbell had served St. Francis County as Sheriff for 12
years, from 1953 until 1965. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Myrtle Davis Campbell, who
he married in 1926 and one daughter, Living also of Forrest City and four
grandchildren. He also leaves a brother, Living of Caldwell and a sister Living
of Palestine. Funeral service by Rev. T. K. Rucker and Rev. Jimmy Ervin were
held at the First Baptist Church here today and burial will follow at Forrest
Park Cemetery with Stevens Funeral Home in charge.
