H. J. Jones 
June 17 1863----June 22, 1921
     Mr. H. J. Jones passed away at his home Wednesday evening after 
suffering a stroke of paralysis. The remains were laid to rest in the 
City Cemetery. 
     He was born June 17, 1862.  He was married to Margaret J. Springs 
August 28, 1880 in Howard County, Arkansas. 
     He is survived by his wife and eight children. Mrs. Leedy Hallum, of 
Calera Oklahoma, Bud , George, John, and Tom Jones, Mrs. Jennie 
Russell, Mrs. Etta,Wyatt, Mrs Ida Locklear, all of De Queen. One 
brother John H. Jones of Provo, three sister, Mrs. Jennie Chandler of 
Mineral Springs, Arkansas, Mrs Lon Grady of Dierks, Mrs Kitty Moody of 
Caddo, Oklahoma. Also 18 grand-children, three great grand-children 
and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
Farewell and a sad farewell no more thy face we'll see, no balm can 
heal no tongue can tell the sorrow felt for thee, Our sight must speak 
the last farewell bereaved though we be, Beyond the reach of earthly 
care thy soul has found it's rest, We'll watch and wait until our 
life's fate, then we'll meet thee over there.

Etta Jones Wyatt
12/14/1889--12/19/1923
     Mrs Etta Jones Wyatt, wife of Sam Wyatt, passed away Wednesday 
December 19th. at 6 o'clock P.M. following an operation for 
appendicitis, at the home of her sister Mrs. Albert Russell on Rose 
Hill.
     Funeral services were held from their residence Thursday afternoon at 
3 o'clock by Rev. S. K. Burnett, her pastor. The remains were laid to 
rest in the City Cemetery. (Now Redman)
     Mrs. Wyatt was survived by her husband and one daughter Beulah, and 
one son, Roy, and mother Mrs. H. Jones, three sister, Mrs Albert 
Russell, Mrs. Ida Locklear of De Queen, and Mrs. Jim Hallum, Valliant, 
Okla.., and four brothers Tom, Bud, John, and George Jones, all of De 
Queen.

Mrs. Ida Jones Locklear
12/20/1894--5/19/1940 
     Funeral services was held in Dallas , Texas Friday, April 19th. Mrs 
Locklear was born and reared in De Queen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
Hiram Jones of De Queen. She was found dead at her home in Dallas 
Thursday morning , the result of a heart attack. 
     She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Marguerite Nulick of 
Dallas, Texas and one Granddaughter LaJaun Nulick also of Dallas, 
Texas. One sister Mrs. Albert Russell, four brothers Tom, George, John 
and Bud Jones all of De Queen, and who attended the funeral. Attending 
the funeral from De Queen were Mrs. Albert Russell Tom Jones, George 
Jones, Bud Jones, John Jones. Also attending were Albert Russell, Mrs. 
Elbert Hughes (Lois), Mrs. Jack Caldwell (Jewel), and Marvin Whitley. 
Also Mrs. Drew Wason (Nena) of Broken Bow, Oklahoma.

John Henry Jones

     John Henry Jones 48, died suddenly from a heart attack at his home
five miles northwest of De Queen Tuesday, December 3, at 6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Thrusday morning at 10 o'clock at the
Wilkerson Chapel with the Rev. E. D. Galloway officiating. Interment 
will be in the Redmen cemetery under direction of Wilkerson Funeral 
Home.
     Mr. Jones was born May 31, 1892, in Howard County and was a World
War veteran. He is survived by his wife, one son, J. J. Hones, three 
brothers,Tom, George and Bud Jones of De Queen; one sister, Mrs. 
Albert Russell,De Queen.

Mrs. Willie B. Manning
     Mrs. Willie B. Manning died Mar 5, 1942 at 2:35 p.m. at her home 
fourteen miles northeast of De Queen. Funeral services were held 
Friday afternoon at the Cosatot Cemetery with the Rev. Helms 
officiating. Interment was under the direction of Wilkerson Funeral 
Home.
     She is survived by one daughter Frankie Manning; three sisters, Mrs. 
Jeanette Gibson, Mrs. Jodie Brizendine and Lois Ellen Jones. all of De 
Queen; Four brothers, Hiram,Mryan, George, and Sherman Jones, De Queen 
and by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G.A. Jones, also of De Queen.

     George Anderson Jones 51 died suddenly at his home nine miles east of 
King, Ark. October 27, 1942 at 6:30 pm. Funeral Services are 
incomplete at this time awaiting the arrival of relatives. He was born 
Aud. 24th.. 1891, in Sevier County where he spent his entire life. He
was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, four 
sons, Hiram, Biddy, Sherman, of De Queen, and Myron of Vancouver,
Wash. Three Daughters Jeanette Jones, Mrs. Winfred Leeper, De Queen 
and Jodie Brizendine of Moses Lake, Wash. One sister Jennie Russell 
and two brothers Tom and Bud All of De Queen.

     Darvin Lee Boyet, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Boyet, Hot
Springs, died Sunday morning at a local Hospital. 
     Beside his parents, he is survived by a sister, Yvonne Boyet;
paternal grandmother, Mrs, Eva Neal, Hot Springs, and his maternal
grandparents,Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones, De Queen.
     Funeral services were held this morning at 11 o'clock at Greenwood
cemetery with the Rev. Clyde Hart, pastor of the Central Baptist
church,officiating. Burial was in Greenwood. Caruth funeral home had
charge of arrangementS

     William Nat "Bud" Jones 69,died at his home on North Seventh Street 
Friday, July 16 at about 5 a.m. Funeral services will be held 
Saturday, July 17 at 10:30 a.m. in Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with the 
Rev. Alfred I. Doss officiating. Interment will be in the Redman 
Cemetery. 
     Mr. Jones was born January 28, 1885 in Nashville and was resident of 
De Queen for many years. 
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Flora Jones, one sister, Mrs. Albert 
Russell and one brother Tom Jones, all of De Queen.

     Mrs Russell dies Sunday in Local Hospital. 
Jennie Caroline Russell died in a local Hospital Sunday June 3 at 11 
P.M. Funeral Services were held Wednesday June 6th. at 2 P.M. in 
Wilkerson Funeral Chapel by Rev. Virgil Russell of Enid, Oklahoma. 
Internment was in the Redman Cemetery. Mrs. Russell was born May 6th. 
1887 in Center Point ,Ark. She was a member of the Methodist Church. 
Survivors are her husband one Daughter Mrs. Elbert Hughes, De Queen 
one Brother Tom Jones of De Queen.

James Hiram Thomas Elijah "Tom" Jones

Tom Jones Sr. retired carpenter and brick mason died Saturday night in 
his home in the Lone Oak community. Funeral services will be held at 2 
pm Tuesday Dec. 10th. at Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with Dr. E. B. 
Abington officiating. Burial will be in the Redman Cemetery. 
A life long resident of Sevier County, he was born Dec. 14th. 1896 at 
De Queen where he was a member of the First Baptist Church and Masonic 
Lodge.
Survivors are his wife Mrs. Irene Jones; one son, Tom Jones Jr. of 
Madill, Okla.; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Key of De Queen and Mrs. 
Wilda Boyet of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren and three great 
grandchildren.

Mrs. Irene Jones dies Jan. 20 in Hot Springs
Mrs. Irene B. Jones, age 73, resident of De Queen died in a Hot 
Springs Hospital following several months of illness. Funeral services 
were held at 2 PM Wednesday, Jan. 21 in Wilkerson Funeral Chapel with 
Rev. Edgar Keck officiating. Burial was in the Redman Cemetery under 
direction of Wilkerson Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 13, 1896 in Hollywood Ark. and had lived a number 
of years near De Queen. She was a member of the Lone Oak Baptist 
Church.
Survivors include one son, Tom Jones Jr., of Madill, Okla.; two 
daughters, Mrs. Wilda Boyet of Hot Springs and Sylvia Key of De Queen; 
five brothers, Horace, Russell and Claude Burton, all of Okalona, 
Clarence Burton of Murfreesboro and Lawrence Burton of Arkadelphia, 
Three sisters Mrs. Ed Tarpley, Okalona, Mrs Viola Ellsworth of 
Manteca, Calif. and Mrs. Marie Huff of Missouri; seven grandchildren 
and three great-grandchildren
Pallbearers were Cecil Pearcy, Melvin Davis, Charles Miller, T.W. 
Bingham, Jeff Lacefield and Melvin Bell.

Mrs. Ethel Mae Rink Whitley aged 75, resident of De Queen, died 
Saturday, May 23, in Community Hospital of De Queen. Funeral services 
were held at 10 a. m. Monday, May 25, in Wilkerson Funeral Home Chapel 
with the Rev. Harold Rogers officiating. Burial was in Redman 
Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband, Marvin Whitley of De Queen; two sons, Jerry 
Whitley of Van Alstyene , Tex., and Billy Whitley of Lake, La.; one 
daughter, Roxy Ann Stephens of De Queen; three sisters, Frankie 
Brooks, Jeffie Johnson and Flo Morrison, all of De Queen; seven 
grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Roy WyWILLIAM ROY WYATT, aged 76, resident of De Queen, died Sunday, 
Jan. 26 at the VA Hospital in Shreveport. La. Funeral services were 
held at 10 a.m.. Wednesday Jan. 29 in Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. 
Joe Carlton and Rev. Joe Denton officiating. Burial followed in Redman 
Cemetery.
He was born Oct. 31, 1909 in De Queen; was a veteran of World War 11; 
a Mason at Sweet Home Lodge #461; was retired from Ritchie Grocery Co. 
after 36 years service; and a member of Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors are his wife Margaret Jo Foster Wyatt of De Queen; One son, 
Steve Wyatt of Shreveport, La.; two daughters, Becky Bailey of 
Philadelphia, Pa. and Roy Jo Kay of Shreveport, La.; and four 
grandchildren.

MRS. NINA WHITLEY ADCOCK age 85 resident of Weatherford, Texas died 
Saturday May 24th. 1986 in Mineral Wells, Hospital. Funeral Services 
were held Tuesday, May 27 in Weatherford, Texas.
She was born August 7, 1900 in De Queen, Arkansas.
Survivors are one son Drew Wasson Jr. of New York, N.Y. one daughter, 
Larverne Springer of Weatherford, Texas. One sister Mrs. Etta Davis of 
Tyrone, New Mexico: one brother Marvin Whitley of De Queen; Three 
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Nov. 30 in Wilkerson Funeral 
Chapel with Rev. Joe Denton officiating. Burial followed in Redman 
Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 7, 1899 in De Queen; and was a Methodist.
Survivors are two sons, Joe Aaron Wilemon of De Queen and Marvin 
Thomas Wilemon of Grandberry, Tex.; two daughter, Elizabeth Lou 
Burchfield of Silver City, N.M., and Bille D. Bingham of De Queen; one 
brother Marvin Whitley of De Queen; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-
grandchildren

HIRAM JESSE JONES, aged 79, resident of Yuma, Ariz., died Monday Jan. 
27, 1992 in Yuma. 
Funeral services were held at 12 noon Friday, Jan. 31, in Ryzek 
Mortuary with Pastor Steve Green of Grace Church of Nazarene 
officiating. Burial followed in Desert Lawn.
He was born Sept. 15, 1912 in De Queen; and was a retired farmer and 
logger. His parents were pioneers at De Queen.
Survivors are his wife, Audrey Earles Jones of Yuma, Ariz.; one son, 
Roy Wayne Jones Sr. of Yuma Ariz.; one daughter, Judith Marie Staggs 
of Carlin, Nez.; two brothers, George Anderson Jones of Farmington, 
N.M. and Sherman John Henry Jones of Sweetwater, Tex.; Two sisters; 
Jennette Caroline Esparza of Sweetwater, Tex.., and Lois Mitchell of 
De Queen; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

JESSE MARVIN "SPARKY" WHITLEY, aged 84, resident of De Queen, died 
Saturday, Sept. 19, 1992 in St. Michael's Hospital at Texarkana.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 21 in Wilkerson Funeral 
Chapel with Rev. Loyd Perry officiating. Burial followed in Redman 
Cemetery.
He was born Sept. 27, 1907 at De Queen; retired from the Kansas City 
Southern Railway in 1972; was a 50 year Master Mason with Sweet Home 
Lodge #461; and a member of First United Methodist Church of De Queen. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Mae Rink Whitley, Who died 
May 23, 1987.
Survivors are two sons, Jerry Whitley of Van Alstyne, Tex. and Billy 
Whitley of Westlake, La.; one daughter, Roxy Ann Stephens of De 
Queen;, seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a number of 
nieces and nephews.

Charles Wayne Key, aged 42, resident of De Queen, died Friday May 12, 
1995 at his home.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday May 15 in Wilkerson 
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Oscar Ball officiating . Burial followed 
in the Redman Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 9, 1952 at De Queen; was a truck driver for 3-M
transportation; and a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors are his mother, Sylvia Dean Jones Key of De Queen; a brother 
Carl Duane Key of Broken Bow, Okla; 3 sisters Jamie Godwin of De 
Queen, Tommye Conaster of Broken Bow, Okla., and Sheila Davis of 
Nacogdoches, Tex.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Lois Russell Hughes aged 85 died Sunday, July 6,1997 in a local
Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 in Redman 
Cemetery with the Rev. Ralph Posey officiating under the direction of 
Wilkerson Funeral Home. of De Queen.
She was born Aug. 6, 1911 to Albert and Jeanette Caroline Jones 
Russell at De Queen; was a homemaker; a former employee of Piggly 
Wiggly; and a member of First Christian Church of De Queen. She was 
preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Eugene "Cotton" Hughes in 
February of 1985.
She is survived by four nephews, Kenneth Hughes of Benton, Billy 
Hughes of Minden, La., Robert Wayne Hughes of Wenatchee, Wash., and 
David Hughes of Everett, Wash.; and two nieces, Margaret Pagett of 
Shreveport, La., and Barbara Ozan of Wenatchee, Wash.

Bob Mac Tarpley
1921---March 10, 1998
Bob Mac Tarpley, 77, of Gurdon died Tuesday, March 10, 1998.
Mr. Tarpley was retired from Arkansas Power and Light. He was a U.S. 
Navy veteran of World War II, and a Pearl Harbor survivor. Mr. Tarpley 
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Gurdon.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Lowe Tarpley of Gurdon; two sons, 
Eddie and wife, Debbie Tarpley, granddaughter, Heather Cook of Hot 
Springs, Billy and wife Sally Tarpley, grandchildren J.T. and Natalie 
of Gurdon; a daughter, Judy and husband Cleve Barfield and 
granddaughters Jana and Rebecca of Prescott; a brother, Wallace 
Tarpley of Little Rock; and a sister, Balma Blanton of Gurdon. 
Services were held Thursday, March 12, at the First United 
Presbyterian Church in Gurdon. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery near 
Okolona by Horne Funeral Home in Gurdon.
