21 April 1821. For his services as private in Capt. David Riddle's Co., 8th Inf.
Reg., Henry Foster was awarded land warrant #24067 for 160 acres of land in what
is now Arkansas Co., Arkansas. The land description is Twp 5-S, Range 5-W, NW
1/4, Section 11. This land is south of present day Stuttgart, Arkansas. There is
no evidence that he ever lived there.

Additional Comments:
After his discharge Henry spent a brief period in Madison Co., Alabama where he
married Naticia Cannon in 1817. She appears to have died young.

I believe he is the same Henry Foster who was living in Giles Co., Tennessee
between about 1825-1840.

1830 Giles Co., Tennessee census
Henry Foster
2 males under 5
1 male 30-40
1 female under 5
2 females 5-10
1 female 30-40

1840 Giles Co., Tennessee census
Henry Foster
1 male 5-10
1 male 30-40
1 female under 5
1 female 5-10
1 female 30-40

(Note. There is some disagreement among researchers about whether this is the
same Henry. The age range in 1830 is correct, but that in 1840 is for a slightly
younger man. This could be an error on the part of the census taker or it could
mean this was a different Henry Foster.)

Henry died 1858-1859 in Searcy Co. His last name on the 1850 census is Forrester.

A descendant of Henry's told me that the story in his family was that he was
gunned down while plowing his fields in Searcy Co. The killers ran off with his
mule and left him for dead.
