	Rozier Riggs Gordon, 89, of Harvey, Arkansas died Friday, 
March 29, 2002 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. He was a farmer, a member of 
Gravelly Methodist Church and widower of Bertha Gordon.
	Funeral services were held at 2 pm Monday, April 1, 2002 at
Gravelly Methodist Church with burial at Monroe Cemetery in Harvey,
Arkansas under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
	He is survived by one sister, Ila Pearl Carpenter of Waterloo,
Arkansas; one brother, Luther Dillard Gordon of Texarkana, Arkansas;
one nephew, Danny Riggs Gordon of Texarkana, Arkansas; one niece, 
Alice Bennett of W. Monroe, Louisiana.
	Pallbearers were Jim Roberson, Roy Lee Austin, Rod Rupe, David
Anderson, Spencer Allen and Allen Ray Austin.

NAOMI SOLOMON
	Naomi Solomon, age 83, of Waldron passed away Saturday, March
30, 2002 in a Waldron hospital. She was born July 21, 1918 in Scott 
County. She was a retired employee of the State of Arkansas and a
member of the First Baptist Church of Waldron.
	Naomi is survived by one sister, Elva Newborn of Waldron, two
nephews, Bill Newborn and Paul Newborn both of Waldron, two nieces,
Patricia Rose and Linda Vaughn both of Waldron, six great nieces, 
Elaine Standridge, Jalene Casias, Shannon Hodge, Regina Hutchens, 
LeAnn Brigance, Michelle Keener and one great nephew, Lynn Newborn.
Other survivors include nine great-great nephews and six great-great
nieces, Zach Hutchens, Ashley Standridge, K.J. Standridge, Meagan,
Tori and David Hodge, Jennifer and Jack Brigance, Jon-Paul and Carter
Casias, Trenton, Taylor and Kaitlin Keener, Sandy McCarley, Greg
Newborn, one great-great-great nephew, Alex McCarley.
	Funeral service was held at 10:00 am Monday, April 1, 2002
at Waldron First Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Thurman officiating.
Interment was at Pilot Prairie Cemetery under the direction of Martin
Funeral Home of Waldron.

PHILLIP ALLEN BLOOM
	Phillip Allen Bloom, 62, of Clinton, Missouri, passed away at
his home Friday, March 29th, 2002. Funeral services were held at the
Vansant-Mills Chapels, Monday, April 1, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. Burial was
in the Clinton Memory Gardens Cemetery.
	Phillip is survived by his wife, Roberta "Bobbi" Bloom of the
home; one daughter, Georgette Rankins and husband Ronnie of Van Buren,
Arkansas; three sons, William "Bill" Bloom and wife Jennifer of Fort
Smith, AR, Phillip D. Bloom and wife Tammy of the home, and Vince "Opie"
Bloom of the home; three sisters, Ruby Conwell of Osceola, Missouri,
Wilda "Sissy" Dawson of Lowry City, Missouri, Mary Creek of Waldron, AR; 
two brothers, Thomas "Tommy" Bloom and wife Carol of Oxnard, California
and Leonard Bloom and wife Ruth Ann of Waldron, AR; 11 grandchildren 
and many nieces and nephews who loved him very much.

JOSEPH WILLIAM DEVINE
	Joseph William DeVine, age 73 years, 2 months and 3 days, passed
away at 3:00 a.m. March 28, 2002 at Veterans Hospital in Livermore,
California. He was born January 25, 1929 near Manfield to Joe DeVine
and Martha Little DeVine.
	He served two years in the U.S. Navy and was stationed in 
Japan and was a faithful member of the Primitive Baptist Church. He was
a retired employee of the Bureau of Reclamation in California.
	He is survived by his wife, Hazel Devine of Watsonville,
California; one daughter Katy Jedlicka of Mt. Hermon, California; two
sons, Joe Jr. of San Jose, California and Shane DeVine of Aptos,
California; one brother, Tommy DeVine of Tahoe, California; eight
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a close friend, Edith Kimes,
along with many other friends.
	Graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3
at Union Ridge Cemetery at Dayton with Cal Kennedy and Steve Jackson
officiating under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Mansfield.
	Pallbearers will be Joe Green, John Green, John Wayne Boyd,
Bob McCay, Gary James and Larry Goines. Viewing will be 4:00 p.m. to
8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be
made to the church of donor's choice.

WOODROW WILSON KNIGHT
	Woodrow Wilson Knight, age 85, of Murfreesboro, formerly of
Mena, Arkansas, passed away Friday, March 22, 2002 in Murfreesboro.
	He was born November 23, 1916 in Edgar County, Illinois, to
the late Frances Marion Knight and the late Nellie Bessie Emrick
Knight. He was united in marriage to Margaret Helen Soots. Mr. Knight
served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a farmer by
profession.
	Mr. Knight was sent for cremation under the direction of the
Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena.
	He is survived by one step-daughter, Eva Robertson; one
step-son Russell Lewellen; one grandson, Christopher Lewellen; one
granddaughter, Crystal Dawn Marshall; several grandchildren and great-
grandchildren. Memorial services are pending.

BEULAH MAE AMMONS-WILLIAMS
	Beulah Mae Ammons-Williams, born March 21, 1918 in Nola,
Arkansas died Friday, March 8, 2002 in Community Hospital in San
Bernardino, California due to perforated gastric ulcer.
	She was buried March 16 in Barstow, California. She joins
her parents, Rosa Mae Ammons and James T. (Jim) Ammons, a sister,
Bonnie Marie, a brother Edgar, a sister-in-law Clemmie, her
husband Elmer Williams, infant son Charles, a son, Marion David (M.D.), 
a daughter Wanda June and a grandson, Justin in heaven.
	Grandmother to eight surviving grandchildren, 13 great-
grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren. She is survived by 
her daughter Sharon and her son James; and the family of Edgar and
Clemmie Ammons.

JOHN HIGGINS, SR.
	John Emmett Higgins, Sr., son of the late Dorris and Gladys 
Blevins Higgins, was born July 22, 1932 in Coaldale, Arkansas.
	He was united in marriage to Barbara Joann Crittendon on
February 15, 1959 at Malden, Missouri. She preceded him in death on
June 22, 2000. On September 21, 2001 he was united in marriage to
Kathleen Adams at Hot Springs, Arkansas.
	John Emmett Higgins, Sr. died March 16, 2002 at Methodist
Hospital North in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of 69 years, 7 months
and 22 days.
	He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Higgins of West Helena, 
Arkansas; two sons, Martin Harold and wife Cindy Higgins of DeSoto,
Missouri and John E. and wife Lori Higgins, Jr. of Kennett, Missouri;
one daughter, Tanya and husband Paul Robinson of Bethalto, Illinois;
4 stepsons, Ted and wife Janie Johnston of Bates, Arkansas, Carl and
wife Sheila Johnston, Kenny and wife Kathy Johnston, Terry and wife

	Bolin Leston (Mack) Stewart, 80, of Boles, Arkansas died 
Wednesday, April 3, 2002 in his home. He was a veteran of WWII and a
retired floor covering installer.

at the Buffalo Cemetery in Boles under the direction of Martin Funeral
Home.
	He is survived by his wife Ann Stewart and one brother, Bruce
W. Stewart of Danville, Arkansas.

VERBA MAE LAWRENCE
	Verba Mae Lawrence, age 90 of Boles, Arkansas passed away 
Tuesday, April 2, 2002 in Waldron, Arkansas.
	She was born May 29, 1911 in Battiest, Oklahoma to the late
Lee Gordon and the late Leona Phillips Gordon. She was the owner and
operator of a restaurant and was a member of the First Baptist Church
in Oden, as well as a member of the Oaklawn Jockey Club.
	She is survived by one daughter, Sondra and her husband Richard
Morgan of Boles, Arkansas; one sister, Juanita and her husband Louis 
Adkins of Bernice, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Angela and her husband
David Tallmadge of Boles, Arkansas, James Ray Morgan of Little Rock,
Arkansas and Rebecca Morgan of Boles, Arkansas; numerous nieces and
nephews; and a host of friends.
	She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Gordon
Lawrence, her grandson George Morgan, two brothers and seven sisters.
	Funeral service was Friday, April 5, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in the
Beasley-Wood Funeral Home Chapel with Brother J.A. Hunnicutt officiating.
Interment followed in the Oden Cemetery under the direction of the
Beasley-Wood Funeral Home in Mena.
	Pallbearers were Junior Spurling, Ronnie Bruton, David 
Tallmadge, Rick Tallmadge, James Billings and William Alston. Honorary

across from Arbuckle Island officiated by the Rev. Howard Webb under

	In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal

mother, Debra Genese Leonard of Lewisville, Texas, maternal grandfather,

	Billy L. Owens, 56, of Waldron died Sunday, April 14, 2002 near
Waldron. He was an employee of Thermo Environmental Instruments in
Waldron and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a Charter Member
of the Waldron Golf Club and was of the Nazarene faith. He was preceded
in death by his parents, W.L. (Red) Owens and Bettie Mae Owens as well
as one sister, Sara Horn.
	Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 17,
2002 at the Church of the Nazarene in Waldron with burial at Union Hill
Cemetery in Union Hill under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of
Waldron.
	He is survived by his wife, Linda; one daughter, Kimberly Heifner
of Waldron; one son, William Kyle Owens of Waldron; two sisters, Linda
Forrest of Waldron and Barbie Slater of Fort Smith; two brothers, James

a member of the Bates Baptist Church and widow of Emmett Stormes.
	Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, 2002
at Bates Baptist Church with burial at Weeks Cemetery in Weeks, Arkansas
under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.
	She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Rice of Bates and Susan
Crane of Winster; one sister, Bonnie Robinson of Weeks; 4 grandchildren,
Jeremy Rice, Paul Rice, Rocky Allyn Crane and Haley Crane; two great-
grandchildren, Grant Rice and Harleigh Rice.

WILLIE DELANE LAMBERT
	Willie Delane Lambert, age 81 of Danville, Arkansas died Friday,
April 12, 2002 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. She
was born October 8, 1920 in Waldron, Arkansas to the late William Overton
and Minnie Lee Smith McDaniel.
	She was a mother, homemaker, caregiver and a member of the Church
of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Vernon Lambert
and two sons, Vernon Edwin "Sonny" Lambert and infant son, William Eric
Lambert.
	She is survived by one son, Charles Lambert of Belleville, 
Arkansas; three daughters, Karen Knaff of Silver Spring, Maryland,
Michele Lambert of Olnev, Maryland and Lisa Defoor of Bluffton, Arkansas;
one sister, Jamie McGlashan of Fresno, California; ten grandchildren and
14 great-grandchildren.
	Funeral service was Monday, April 15, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at the
Danville Church of Christ with Brother Walter Golding officiating. Burial
was at Reed Cemetery in Story, Arkansas. Arrangements by Cornwell Funeral
Home of Danville, Arkansas. Grandsons served as pallbearers.

CHARLIE GRANVILLE ROGERS
	Charlie Granville Rogers, age 92, of Y-City passed away Monday,
April 15, 2002 in Waldron.
	He was born June 15, 1909 in Scott County, Arkansas to Eli
Rogers and Molly Martin Rogers. He was united in marriage to Cordie Mae
Blackwell. Mr. Rogers was a farmer by profession and a member of the
Chant Pentecostal Church in Y-City, Arkansas. Mr. Rogers was a loving
husband, father and grandfather.
	He is survived by sons, Charlie "Short" Rogers, Jr. of Y-City, 
AR and Albert Rogers of Y-City, AR; grandchildren, Kathy Swift, Ron 
Rogers, Howard Rogers, Sherri Taylor, Charles Wayne Rogers and Steve
Rogers; 10 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren Pat Venable and Nina
Freeman; 10 step-great-grandchildren and 10 step-great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife.
	Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 17, 2002 at 11:00 a.m.
at the Chant Pentecostal Church in Y-City with Brother Mike Shaddon and
Brother Herman Woodard officiating. Burial will follow in the Chant
Cemetery in Y-City under the direction of the Beasley Wood Funeral Home.

JOHN BRIGANCE
	John R. Brigance, age 81 of Waldron, passed away Thursday, April 18, 
2002 in his home. He was the retired owner and operator of Brigance 
Engine (1946-1997), a veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific with
the Seabees, retired member of Waldron Fire Department, served as Waldron
City Alderman, member of Waldron Masonic Lodge for 55 years, and was a
member of Waldron First Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his
wife Syble and a daughter, Doris.
	Funeral services were at 4:00 pm Saturday, April 20 at the Waldron
First Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Thurman officiating and was followed
by interment at Duncan Cemetery with the Waldron Masonic Lodge officiating
under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron. Pallbearers were
members of Waldron Masonic Lodge, honorary pallbearers were Eric, Mark,
Keith and Alan Brigance, Joe Bingham and Chris Brotherton.
	Mr. Brigance is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Larry
and Maurene Brigance, Roger and Sharon Brigance, Richard and Carla 
Brigance all of Waldron, five grandchildren, Mark, Keith, Eric and Kyra
Brigance all of Waldron, Amy Brotherton and husband Chris of Van Buren,
one great grandchild Bradley Brotherton of Van Buren. Other survivors 
include two brothers, Omer and Fred Brigance both of Waldron, two sisters,
Stella Bingham Butler of Waldron and twin sister, Ruby Roach of Toledo,
Ohio along with several nieces and nephews.

	Mary Elizabeth Stinson, 77, of Waldron died Saturday, April 20,
2002 in a Waldron hospital. She was a homemaker and the widow of Clyde
Stinson and a member of the Winfield Baptist Church.
	Funeral services were at 2 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2002 at Winfield
Baptist Church with burial following at Sehorn Cemetery in Winfield 
under the direction of Martin Funeral Home.
	She is survived by one daughter, Linda Slater of Waldron; one son,
Jimmy Stinson of Waldron; 2 brothers, Tiney Cole of Anderson, Missouri 
and Tivas Cole of Bellflower, California; 3 grandchildren, Michael and
Lance Stinson of Waldron and Lana Thompson of Las Vegas, Nevada; 2 great
grandchildren, Brittany and Ryan Thompson.

	Frank Monroe Richey, 103, of Waldron died Friday, April 19, 2002
in a Waldron Nursing Home. He was a retired farmer and sawmill worker
and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his wife, Montie Richey and
four daughters.
	Graveside services were held at 10 am Monday, April 22, 2002 at
Hawkins Cemetery in Parks, Arkansas with burial following under the 
direction of Martin Funeral Home.
	He is survived by two daughters, Robbie Richey of Boles and Ruby
Phillips of Parks; 4 sons, Frank of Mena, Arkansas, Robert of Oregon,
James of New Mexico and Bobby of Boles; 31 grandchildren; 63 great-
grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren.

Bruton. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18 at 
the Boles Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs officiating.
Interment was at the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Martin 
Funeral Home of Waldron.
	Mrs. Holleman is survived by her husband, Valton, one daughter, 
Sherry Cottrell of Arkoma, two grandchildren, Jennifer Cottrell and 
Stanley Cottrell, Jr. both of Arkoma. Other survivors include four 
brothers, Ernest Bruton of Quinlan, Texas, Basil Bruton, Noyce Bruton
and C.L. Bruton all of Boles, Arkansas, two nieces and two nephews.

DONALD HAWTHORNE EVATT
	Donald Hawthorne Evatt, 61, of Conway, Arkansas died Wednesday,
April 17, 2002 at the Conway Regional Medical Center. He was born 
February 6, 1941 in Waldron, Scott County, to the late Fred and Clara
Hawthorne Evatt. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He was
also a certified public accountant and a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Conway.
	He is survived by his wife, Linda Reed Evatt; one son, Robert
Clay Evatt of Conway; and one brother, John Fred Evatt, Jrs. of Pine
Bluff.
	Memorial services were at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 19, at the
Roller-McNutt Funeral Home Chapel in Conway with Rev. Philip Hathcock
officiating.

and Amanda Holleman and two sisters, Alva Holleman and Alta Mae Davis.
	Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29 at
Martin Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Hawkins Cemetery at Parks,
Arkansas under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron, Arkansas.
	She is survived by three sisters, Amy Bottoms of Parks, Arkansas,

	Mya Reagan Davis, infant daughter of Tony and Andrea Marsh Davis,
died Thursday, April 25, 2002 at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little
Rock.
	In addition to her parents, she is survived by her grandparents,
Robert Dale and Pharis Davis of Hoxie and Bill and Debbie Marsh of 
Waldron; and great-grandparents, Bill and Lucille Davis and Bernice
Holder, all of Walnut Ridge, and Earoll and Syble Cabe and Marie Marsh,
all of Waldron.
	Graveside services were at 8 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Heights
Cemetery in Rector, with the Rev. Jimmy Anderson officiating. Irby
Funeral Service of Rector was in charge of arrangements.

EARL CARL STREICH
	Earl Carl Streich, 69, of the Freedom community, passed away 
Monday, April 29, 2002 at his home. He was Fire Chief for Northwest 
Scott Volunteer Fire Department for four years, was a veteran of the
Korean War and was retired from Sears repairs. He was a loving husband
and father of seven children.
	Funeral service is planned for Saturday, May 4, 2002 at 10:00 a.m.
at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield with Rev. Ray Boggs officiating.
Burial will be at Freedom Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral
Home of Mansfield. Visitation with family and friends will be on Friday,
May 3 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
	He is survived by his wife Susan Streich of the home; four 
daughters and three sons-in-law, Lisa and Alan Farmer of Raleigh, NC,
Rhonda Streich of Yucaipa, CA; Dana and Donnie Adkins of Freedom area
and Pamela and Mark Rory of Corona, CA; three sons and two daughters-in-

MABLE HOUSE
	Mrs. Mable Deane Titsworth House, 77, of Board Camp passed away
Friday, May 3, 2002 at St. Edward Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith.
	She was born July 23, 1924 in Nunley, Arkansas to the late Arch
Clark Titsworth and the late Cordie Parker Titsworth. She was united in
marriage to Spencer Lee House on September 25, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee.
	She became a born again Christian in 1942 and joined the First 
Baptist Church in Mena where she taught a Sunday School class. She then
moved to Jacksonville to work and joined the First Baptist Church there.
Later she moved to Memphis and moved her membership to Jackson Boulevard
Baptist Church. In Memphis she married Spencer and they moved back to
Mena. Mrs. House then went on to California with Spencer, now a sailor,
to await his orders for overseas.
	The war was soon ended and Spencer was discharged in California
and they joined the First Baptist Church in Reedley, California.
	They returned to the Mena and Waldron area for a while and then
moved back to California where they attended and joined the First Baptist
Church at Sanger. They went back to Waldron and joined the First Baptist
Church there.
	A job at Douglas Aircraft took them to Collinsville, Oklahoma and 
they joined and worked in the Collinsville First Baptist Church. Moving
on to Tulsa they joined the N Lewis Avenue Baptist Church where she
taught a class of teenage girls and Spencer surrendered to preach. He 
was an ordained deacon and filled the pulpit when the opportunity 
afforded itself. They were also members of Immanuel Baptist Church in
Tulsa for a short time.
	In 1956 they moved to Ft. Worth where he got a job working for
Convair Aircraft and also attended Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary and drove to a pastorate near Durant, Oklahoma on weekends. Mrs.
House worked with the Baptist Hour where the radio program The Baptist
Hour was produced over the air regularly. While there it went under the
auspices of Southern Baptists and was known as the Southern Baptist Radio
and Television Commission.
	From there they moved to Lela, Texas where Spencer was a pastor at
Lela First Baptist Church, between Shamrock and McClain, Texas. He was
later called to Haile Baptist Church near Borger and they moved there.
From there they went back to Waldron and Mena, pastoring small rural
churches and then to Temple Baptist Church in Waldron as their first
pastor. From there to Wichita, Kansas where he worked for Boeing Aircraft
and was interim pastor for the First Baptist Church in Florence, Kansas
and the area around Wichita. Their membership was at First Baptist Church
in Burden, Kansas.
	They returned to Mena and Spencer served as pastor at Westmoreland
Baptist Church and Pine Ridge before moving to Freeport, Texas. At Freeport,
Spencer led a construction crew for 13-14 years and retired in 1986.
	They then became members of the Board Camp Baptist Church and 
recently became members of the Bible Believers Baptist Church for the
last three to four years.
	Mrs. House was a homemaker, a Christian writer dedicating her life
to Christian writing. Her by line has been seen in more than a few 
Christian publications and some secular magazines and newspapers. She
had currently been editing her own publication called Goose Feathers and
wrote a weekly column for the Scott County Times.
	Survivors include her husband, Spencer of the home; two daughters,
Sharon Marhanke of Wichita, Kansas and Myrna Deane Martin of Freeport,
Texas; two sons, Stanley Morris House of Cherry Hill and John Wade House
of Mena; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
	She was preceded in death by an infant brother and her parents.
	Funeral services for Mrs. House were held Tuesday, May 7, 2002 at
2 pm at Hall Funeral Service Memorial Chapel in Mena. Burial followed at
Board Camp Cemetery under the direction of Hall Funeral Service of Mena.
	Pallbearers were her grandsons, Jeff Sherman, Jason Martin, Brad
House, Bryan House and Sam Lee.
	Honorary pallbearers were Todd Webb, Greg Vaughn, Matt Crow and
James Ryan.

	Stephenie Lynn Morrison, age 36 of Waldron, passed away Sunday,
May 5, 2002 in a Waldron hospital. She was born August 1, 1965 in Merced,
California. She was a former employee of Tyson Foods, involved with the
Sebastian County and Scott County American Cancer Society Relay For Life,
and attended Boles Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by
her mother, Mildred Stephens.
	Stephenie is survived by her husband Anthony and a son Stephen, both
of the home, a son and daughter, Samuel and Samantha Lott both of Mojave
Valley, Arizona, her father, Gerald Stephens of Merced, California, and
three sisters, Stacey Lenington and Sherene Riggs both of Muldrow, 
Oklahoma, and Summer Grammer of Bentonville, Arkansas. Other survivors
include her father-in-law and mother-in-law, A.G. and Joann Morrison of
Waldron, ten nephews and three nieces.
	Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 8 at Martin Funeral
Home Chapel with Rev. Pat Ray Biggs and Rev. Charles Cooper officiating.
Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Waldron under the
direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron. Serving as pallbearers will

	Arvin Theodore Massengale, Sr., 88, of Harrison died Tuesday, May 14,
2002 in the Hillcrest Nursing Home in Harrison.

	Burial was in Alpena Cemetery. Pallbearers were grandsons.
	The son of the late William Thomas and Nancy Jane "Nanny" Hoover
Massengale was born on July 5, 1913 in Wilkerson. He was a retired farmer,
businessman and minister. He was owner-operator of M & M Equipment Company.
He was a member of Gideon International and First Baptist Church of 
Harrison.
	He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Luella; daughter,
Charlene Kelton; brothers, Tilford, Sanford and Arkie Massengale, and
sisters, Delphia Henderson, Dovie Shaddox and Ava Bailey.
	He is survived by four sons, F.M. Massengale of Green Forest, Arvin
Massengale, Jr. of Hartman, Carroll Lee Massengale of Cedarville and

	Junior Lamar Brothers, age 71, of Ola, Arkansas, died Thursday,
May 16, 2002 at his home in Ola. Mr. Brothers was born August 5, 1930
in Waldron, Arkansas to the late Lee and Ollie Vaughn Brothers.
	He was a logger and a member of the First Assembly of God Church
in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his sister, Iva Cagle, two
great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Johnson and Dalton Johnson.
	Survivors are his wife of 52 years, Shirley Pottridge Brothers of
Plainview; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Brenda Brothers
and Gary Don and April Brothers all of Plainview, Wayne and Cindy Brothers
of Ola; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Carl Hales of Rover,
JoAnn and Ken Stevens and Carolyn and Terry Stewart all of Ola; a brother,

	Danville-Rosie Limbocker, age 88 of Danville, Arkansas, passed away
June 7, 2002 in Danville. She was born October 2, 1913 in Scott County,
Arkansas the oldest child of the late Ace and Ida Woodard Garner. Rosie 
was known for her quiet reserve, kindness and sweet smile for everyone.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Limbocker; a
sister, Minia Hunt, and brothers, Velo Garner and Jethel Garner.
	Survivors include three brothers, Acelo Garner of Quinton, Oklahoma,
Bethel Garner of Danville and Monroe Garner of Dardanelle, and a sister,
Lillie Yandell of Havana, Arkansas.
	Funeral service was at 10 am, Tuesday, June 11 at Union Hill Church
with Reverend Larry Pat Millard officiating. Interment followed at Hunt
Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Charles Yandell, Larry Garner, Lloyd
Garner, DeWayne Garner, Clinton Limbocker, John Reather and Kenneth
Limbocker.

DONALD GLENN BUTLER
	Donald Glenn Butler, age 51, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Sunday,
June 9, 2002 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center, as the result of 
injuries received in an automobile/pedestrian accident Saturday night.
	He was born November 19, 1950 at Walnut Ridge, AR, a son of the
late Leland Glenn Butler and Dona Mae Henson Butler.
	He grew up in Muskegon, Michigan and graduated from high school in
Paragould, AR. He graduated from Southern Baptist College (now Williams
Baptist College) in Walnut Ridge with an Associate's Degree. He also
attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville and was a graduate of
Columbia School of Broadcasting.
	He was in full time church work for 25 years and served churches
in Hot Springs, Prescott, East Camden, Stuttgart and Waldron. He had
formerly served as music minister for Green Meadows Baptist Church,
Shannon Road Baptist Church, Sulphur Springs Baptist Church and Centennial
Baptist Church, all in Pine Bluff.
	At the time of his death he was minister of music at Greenlee Baptist
Church. He had been employed as a sales clerk for Sears at the Pines Mall
for the past six years. He was preceded in death by an infant son in 1984.
	Survivors include his wife, Dianne Tankersley Butler, to whom he
was married on February 18, 1978 at Pine Bluff; two daughters, Cynthia
Butler and Anita Butler, both of Pine Bluff; two brothers, James David 
"Lou" Butler of Little Rock, and Lee Butler of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas;
and one sister, Beth Allender of Perth, Australia.
	Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at 10:30 a.m.
at Greenlee Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Hughes and Rev. Bobby Hartsfield
officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery by Charles E. Fuller

LORENE JUANITA MITCHELL
	Clarksville--Funeral services for Lorene Juanita Mitchell, 74, of
Clarksville were held Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 10 am at Gravelly 
United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Parks Cemetery at Nola
under the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron.
	Mrs. Mitchell died Thursday, June 13, 2002 in a Russellville
hospital. She was the widow of S.J. Mitchell, was a former postmaster,
a homemaker and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.
	Survivors include two daughters, Mary Harris of Waldron and 
Kathy Smith of Clarksville; three sons, Sam Mitchell of Clarksville,
Larry Mitchell of Havana and Tim Mitchell of Gravelly; four sisters,
Irene Monroe of Harvey, Inez Laundry of Hooks, Texas, Patsy Lindsay of
Oklahoma City and Varnell Cobb of Booneville; a brother, Walter Martin, Jr.
of Ashdown; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild.
	Pallbearers were Charles Smith, James Smith, Logan Harris, Joseph
Mitchell, Donald Smith and Rod Rupe.
	Honorary pallbearer was Jake Henry Smith.

WILMA S. WAGNER
	Hot Springs--Wilma S. Wagner of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away
Sunday, June 16, 2002 after a long illness. She was a member of the First
Baptist Church, the Emblem Club and the Uniontown, PA Chapter of the
Eastern Star.
	Mrs. Wagner is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and
Bill Cabe of Waldron; a son, Richard Wagner of Little Rock; three 
grandchildren, Jennifer Shaddon and husband Gary of Y-City, Jeff Cabe 
and wife Angel of Waldron and David Wagner of Conway. Other survivors
include four great-grandchildren, Vanessa Shaddon, Jamie Shaddon, Kyler
Cabe and Katie Cabe; and several nieces and nephews.
	Graveside service will be held 3 pm Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at
Crestview Cemetery in Hot Springs under the direction of Martin Funeral
Home of Waldron. Visitation will be held 3 pm to 9 pm Tuesday and 9 am
to 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home.

VEORIA MORGAN
	Veoria Morgan, age 77, of Danville, Arkansas died Monday, June 17,
2002. She was born December 19, 1924 in Blue Ball, Yell County, Arkansas
to the late Tom and Oshie Garner Wilkins.
	She was a mother, grandmother and poultry-cattle farmer. She attended
the Egypt Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Clinton Morgan, a brother, Tad Morgan [copied as written], five 
sisters, Dottie Wilkins, Isabelle Hunt, Elzadie Miller, Lois Millard, 
Muffy Armstrong and son-in-law, Tobe Woodard.
	She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Morgan Woodard of Danville;
son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Don and Linda Morgan of Danville; brothers,
Roy L. Wilkins of Danville and Bill Wilkins of Blue Ball; sisters, Geneva
Self of Danville, Betty Sue Woodard of Danville and Elvie James of Pottsville;
grandchildren, Mike Woodard, Marty Woodard, Jeff Morgan and Chuck Morgan
all of Danville, and Morgan Woodard of Walnut Ridge; great-grandchildren, 
Callie Woodard, Corey Morgan, Lakyn Morgan, Macey Morgan, Dylan Morgan and

	Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 18, 2002 at 2:00 p.m.

	Bates--Dale Edward Thompson, 74, of Bates, Arkansas died Thursday,
June 20, 2002 in his home. He was an employee of Crane Plumbing Company 
for 38 years, was a World War II veteran and owner and operator of River
Oak Charlois Ranch.
	A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2002 at 2 pm 
at Martin Funeral Home in Waldron.
	He is survived by his wife, Eupha; one daughter and son-in-law, 
Beth and John Roberts of Barling; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and 
Regina Thompson of Ft. Smith; mother, Beatrice Thompson of Waldron; three

	Arizona--Margaret Ann Henderson, 82, of Mesa, Arizona passed away

Megan and their son Jack; Casey Eagle Burger and his wife Nicole and

	Waldron--Mearl Anthon (Blue) Bates, 59, of Waldron, Arkansas died
Tuesday, June 18, 2002 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a 31 year employee
of Arkansas State Highway Department and member of Unity Baptist Church.
	Funeral service was held at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 20 at the
Martin Funeral Home with the burial at Chant Cemetery at Y-City under
the direction of Martin Funeral Home of Waldron, Arkansas.
	He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane; two daughters, Treasa Woodard
and Stacy Singleton both of Waldron; two sons, Mike Bates and Travis Bates
of Waldron; one step-son, Vincent Johnson of Waldron; two sisters, Frankie
Hunt and Freda Ballard of Waldron; one brother, Earl Bates of Waldron; four
grandchildren, Kendra and Amy Singleton, Jordan Woodard, Kaitlyn Bates and
one step-grandson, Vincent Johnson II.

	Waldron--Funeral services for Johnny Lee Bunten, 57, of Waldron were
held Monday, June 24, 2002 at 2 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron.
Burial followed at Kirk Cemetery in Cauthron under the direction of Martin
Funeral Home of Waldron.
	Mr. Bunten died Saturday, June 22, 2002 at Mercy Hospital in Waldron.
He was a logger and a member of Hon Baptist Church.
	Survivors include his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Sherry L. Garrett
and Linda J. Belanger both of Huntington; a son, Randall L. Bunten of
Waldron; his mother, Opal Bunten of Waldron; three sisters, Ruby Chacon of
Maricopa, California, Ola Mae Kemp of Pencil Bluff and Edith Slater of
Waldron; and four grandchildren.

ROXIE LEE ESSMAN
	Roxie Lee Essman, age 79, of Mena, Arkansas passed away Thursday,
June 20, 2002 in Mena. She was born January 21, 1923 in Waldron, Arkansas
to the late Felix Smith and the late Mima Taylor Smith. She was united in
marriage to Edgar Essman for 61 years.
	Mrs. Essman was a housekeeper at Mena Medical Center, an elderly 
caregiver after retiring and was a member of the Two-Mile Church of Christ.
She was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, sister and grandmother.
	She is survived by her husband, Edgar Essman of Mena, AR; one son,
Truman and his wife, Debra Essman of Mena, AR; three daughters, Vera and
her husband Jerry Gaston of Mena, AR, Patsy and her husband George Word of
Camden, AR and Linda and her husband Bryan Wyman of Mena, AR; three
brothers, Melvin and his wife Betty Smith of Waldron, AR, Lester Smith of
Waldron and Jessie Smith of Waldron; four sisters, Francis and her husband
Davis Judy of Abbott, AR, Dovie and her husband Charlie Williams of Abbott,
AR, Doria and her husband Roy Glen Harrison of Waldron, and Margaret and
her husband Jerry McCafferty of Waldron, AR; six grandchildren; 14 great
grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother and one
grandson.
	Funeral services were Saturday, June 22, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. at the
Freedom Baptist Church in Waldron with Brother Millard Smith officiating.
Interment followed in the Freedom Cemetery in Waldron under the direction of 
Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of Mena.
	Pallbearers were Paul Williams, Arnold Williams, Glen Harrison, 
Danny Harrison, Matt McCafferty and Henry Cogburn. Honorary pallbearer
was Carl Foster.

GEORGIA RUTH TABLER
	Georgia Ruth (Wagoner) Tabler, 79, of Queen City, Texas, died
Saturday, June 8, 2002 in Texarkanas, Texas.
	Mrs. Tabler was born September 20, 1922 in Logan County, near 
Booneville, Arkansas. She was an employee of Lone Star Army Ammunition
Plant during World War II and a waitress. She was preceded in death by
her husband, J.L. Tabler; one son, James Tabler, one grandson, Jonathan
Weaver, and three brothers, Winfred Wagoner, Paul Wagoner and John
Wagoner.
	Survivors include two daughters, Judy Weaver of Atlanta, Texas and
Shirley Tabler Scott of Tyler, Texas; one brother, Rev. Sam Wagoner of
Waldron, AR; two sisters, Addie Carmack and Alberta Yates both of Waldron;
three grandsons, Sam Tabler, Matthew and Marc Weaver; and one great
gandson, Kameron Tabler; and several nieces and nephews.
	Graveside service was at the Paula Cemetery in Little River County
with Rev. Sam Wagoner officiating. Burial was under the direction of
Hanner Funeral Service.
