Kathleen Martin Smith, 83, of Little Rock, widow of Charles E. Smith Sr.,
surrounded by family, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, June 12,1999.
Kathleen, a Methodist, was born May 10,1916, in Mabelvale, Ark., daughter of
Leon Lefevre and Margaret Irene Martin. She was a descendant of Jared Carswell
Martin, a prominent pioneer who settled in the Mabelvale area in 1822 and of
Britton Bailey who came from Illinois to Texas with Stephen F. Austin's first
colony in 1823.

Survived by sons, Charles E. Smith Jr. and wife, Sonia, James M. Smith and wife,
Dottie, Carl Hoyt?Smith, Little Rock; daughters, Eloise S. Smith Memphis, Tenn.,
Margaret H. Shamburger and husband, Bill, Little Rock, Mary K. Smith and
husband, Herman, Cabot, Gloria S. Ringgold and husband, Tommy, Beebe, Geneva
Sproles and husband, Rob, Jacksonville, Lois J. Morrow and husband, Charlie,
DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; brothers; Thompson L. Martin, Van Nuys, Calif.; Carl
Martin, Mabelvale; sisters, Dorothy Mullis, Matthews, N.C., and Mollie Wiseman,
Little Rock; grand?children, Leslie Doan,, Lori Canon, Chuck Smith, Marcy
Marlin, Shelley Smith, Michael, Shane and Brian Rodgers, Staci Zerbe, Amy Green,
Cindy and Steven Shamburger, Debbie Zompacos, Leighanne Boudreau, Carrie and
Kathleen Lea Smith, Kenneth and Martin Nipper, Brandon, Zan and Scotty Sproles,

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. today at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church,
Highway 89 South, Cabot, Ark. with Bro. Paul Woolly officiating. Family will
receive friends at #11 Cedar Hills Road, Cabot, Ark. immediately following the
