Pine Bluff Commercial, Pine Bluff AR, 29 Apr 1979
Little Rock – Mrs. Mary Rowell West, 84, of Little Rock, a Warren native, died 
Saturday at St. Vincent infirmary here. She was the widow of Melvin C. West, 
who died in 1966.  A Warren native, she was the daughter of the late Felix and 
Mary Waites Rowell.  She had lived in Altheimer a number of years before 
moving to Pine Bluff in 1950.  She was lived in Little Rock the past two 
years.  She was an active member of the American Red Cross.  She was a member 
of Lakeside Methodist Church of Pine Bluff.  Survivors include two daughters, 
Mrs. Imogene Wehmer of Little Rock and Mrs. Gills Bangle of Riverside, 
California; a brother, J. W. Rowell of Warren; a sister, Mrs. Claudia Carroll 
of Bastrop, Louisiana; five grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.  Funeral 
services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Ralph Robinson & Son Mortuary by Reverend 
William C. Bachert.  Burial will be in Memorial Park North.  Pallbearers will 
be Stan Hardin, Leon Francis, Johnny Anderson, Garvis Pollard, Mark Shelton 
and Hubert Wardlaw.  The family will be at 4 Oriole Circle in Little Rock.  
The family requests that memorials take the form of donations to the Arthritic 
Foundation.
