AR:

WILLIAMS.--In this city, on Friday, June 14, 1872, Fred S. Williams, aged
thirty one years and six months.

The numerous friends of the deceased will hear of his sudden death with
sincere sorrow, cut off, as he has been, in the prime of manhood. From his
early youth he was a resident of Little Rock. At the commencement of the
war he was one of the first to enlist, and to the last day held out
faithfully in support of the cause he believed just. He attained the rank
of first lieutenant of light artillery in Marshall's Battery. He always
maintained the esteem, confidence and respect of his comrades in the
highest degree. A good soldier, faithful comrade and estimable gentleman,
he has gone to his long rest. Peace to his ashes.
