MRS. OLA MAE KESTER
          Funeral service for Mrs. Ola Mae Kester of Elaine was conducted Friday
morning at Roller-Citizens was conducted Friday morning at Roller-Citizens 
Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Don Yancey officiated.
Burial was in Brearley Cemetery in Darnanelle, where a graveside service was
conducted.
Mrs. Kester, 86, died Wednesday at Crestpark Nursing Home.  She was a
homemaker and a member of the Elaine Church of God.
Survivors include a son, Freeman L. Kester of Phoenix, Arizona; three
daughters, Mrs. Mary Oakby of Millington, Tennessee, Mrs. Kathryn Williamson of 
Elaine, and Mrs. Winona Talley of Darnanelle; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-great 
grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Hardesty, Charles Kemp, Darrel Oglesby, Clay Oglesby,
Dean Oglesby, and Johnny Williamson.

MRS. WILMA MASSEY
          Funeral service for Mrs. Wilma Lydia Massey of Helena was conducted 
Wednesday morning at Roller-Citizen Funeral Home.  The Rev. Ted Witchen 
officiated.  Graveside service was held that afternoon at Marshall Memorial 
Cemetery in Marvell, where she was buried.
Mrs. Massey, 81, died Monday at Crestpark Nursing Home.  She was a retired
seamtress for Bobbie Brooks Garment Factory and Barnett's and was a native of 
Witt Springs.
Survivors include a son, Fred R. Massey of Lansing, Kansas; and two daughters,
Mrs. Cleta Seeman of Springdale and Mrs. Jeannie Blosch of West Helena; a 
brother, Bill reed of Tonitown, seven grandchildren; and seven 
great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Ned Young, Gene Ridge, Tommy Braden, Kevin Rodgers, Michael
Bloesch, and Jeff Davis.
Honorary pallbearer was Dr. M. A. McDaniel.
The family requests any memorials be made to the Alzheimer Association, 1002
West Markham, Little Rock, AR.

MRS. LAVERN NICHOLSON
          Funeral service for Mrs. Laven Nicholson of Marianna was conducted 
Thursday afternoon Thursday afternoon at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel in 
West Helena.  Sister Annie Mae Farmer officiated.
Burial was in Central Cemetery near Lexa.
Mrs. Nicholson, 52, died at her home Monday.  She was a native of Milligan
Ridge, a homemaker, and a member of the Church of God in Oak Grove, Louisiana.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Nicholson of Marianna; a son, Bradley V.
Nicholson of Winnfield, Louisiana;  her mother, Mrs. Rosie Yon of Osceola; five 
sisters, Mrs. Frances Faulkner of Osceola, Mrs. Bea Powers of Grandon, 
Missouri, Mrs. Mildren Smith of Missouri, Mrs. Violet Kernon of Illinois, and 
Mrs. Patricia Hunter of Booneville, Arkansas; six brothers, Lewis Yon, Henry 
Yon, Pleas Yon, Charles Yon, Donny Yon, and Roger Yon, all of Illinois; and two 
grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Wayne Nicholson, Ricky nicholson, Sammie Joe Hughes Jr., Huel
Parker, Bobby Smith, and Billy Littleton.

MRS. RUBY PATTERSON
          Graveside service for Mrs. Ruby Lois Patterson of West Helena was conducted
Wednesday afternoon at Oddfellows Cemetery.  The Rev. Keith Cofield and the Rev.
Burl Lloyd officiated.  Arrangements were made under direction of 
Roller-Citizens
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Patterson, 74, was a native of Savage, Mississippi, a homemaker and a
member of the West Helena Church of God.
Survivors include three sons, Don Brown, Wesley Patterson and David Patterson,
all of West Helena; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Jane Carr of West Helena; a brother, 
Newell Brown of West Helena; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Taylor of Searcy and Mrs. 
Beatrice Steelman of Camden; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Robert Layton, Tony Dyce, Bobby Brown, Bobby Cavette, James E.
Brown, and Jimmy Hill.

CHARLES G. ROWLAND
          Funeral service for Charles Gray Rowland of Helena was conducted
Thursday afternoon at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home Chapel.  The Rev. Rodger 
Hooker officiated.
Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park.
Mr. Rowland, 86, died Tuesday at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.  He was
a retired contractor, a native of Canaan, Mississippi, and a member of the 
Ashland Methodist Church.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Rowland of Helena; and a brother, Ralph
R. Rowland of Ashland, Mississippi.
Pallbearers were Tommy Harthcock Jr., Gary Harthcock, Ernest Alexander Jr.,
Brian Ward, Howard Ginn, Freddy Ginn and Dale Berry.
Honorary pallbearers were Thomas Harthcock Sr., Thomas Troutman, Dr. Pat Pat
Bell, Dale Ishmael, E. CAmpbell Alexander, Harold Hopper, Robert Ramsey, Eddie 
Skogland, and Michael S. Everett.

EDNA F. SMITH
          Funeral service for Mrs. Edna F. Smith of Lexa will be conducted at 10
a.m. Saturday at the Lexa Baptist Church.  The Rev. Eugene Bates and the Rev. 
Jimm Bevill will officiate.
Burial will be in Marianna Memorial Park under direction of Roller-Citizens
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Smith, 88, died Thursday at Helena Regional Medical Center.  She was a
homemaker, a native of Duncan, Oklahoma, and a member of Lexa Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Betty Jo Neville or Jacksonville, Florida
and Mrs. Carry Lee Ginn of Searcy; a brother, Leslie Frensley of Lexa, and a 
number of neices and nephews.
Nephews were pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Loyd Oxner, James Helton, Gerald Bentley, Terry
Tolar, and LaVaughn Smith.
