Found another one in my files for an aunt to my grandfather. Her name
was Leola Ann Madeline Whitten Adams Hickman. This was sent to me by
her granddaughter without a date or newspaper listed, but she died in
Two Bayou, Ouachita County, Arkansas. Camden Arkansas
Died:
Mrs. C. B. Hickman, age 60, one of Two Bayou's oldest and most respected
citizens died Sunday, September 25, at 6 a.m. Mrs. Hickman has been in
bad health for quite a while, having cancer, and for the past four weeks
the end was expected hourly. She seemed to realize that the end of her
lifes journey had been reached and told the family that she was ready
and willing to go. Mrs. Hickman became a member of the M. E. Church in
early life and remained so until death.
The funeral was held at Two Bayou church at 12 a.m. (sic) by Bro. Bragg
Adams, by request of the deceased, who had charge of the funeral.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hickman leaves five sons: Luther, Irvin,
Arthur, Cuthbert, and Hubert Adams and three step-children: Will
Hickman, Mrs. Arthur Adams, and Mrs. Lillie Romack and a number of
grandchildren. A large crowd of sympathizing friends and neighbors
attended the burial, bringing with them many floral offerings the entire
grave being covered with flowers.
The bereaved husband and children have the deep sympathy of their
many friends. Those who attended from distances were Hubert Adams of Good
Pine, LA, Mr. And Mrs. Will Hickman of McNeil, Mrs. John Carter and Ed
Hickman of Union
