ABANDONED CEMETERY NEAR AMY

This African-American cemetery is located at the SW corner 
of the NE ¼ NE ¼ of Section 36, Twp. 11 South, Rng. 17 West.  
It is about one mile east of Amy on the south side of County 
Rd. 31 and about 500 feet off the road.  There is no passable 
road to the cemetery.  The cemetery has been neglected and 
brush and trees are about to take it over.  
This record was made Dec. 9, 1996 by Jerry McKelvy. 

Cellevan, Larnce—no dates; marker hard to read; appears to be handmade 
stone; grave is east of Ellen Israel grave

Farrow, John—born 7-21-1893-----died 4-21-1967; Pvt. Co. D- 508 Engrs.- 
World War I; also has a metal funeral home marker from Williams Funeral Home

Henderson, Burl—born 7-6-1897-----died 3-3-1967; Pvt.-Co. A – 409 
Svc. Bn – World War I

Henderson, Gracie—born 2-9-1900-----died 8-25-1975; grave is south of Burl Henderson grave

Israel, Ellen—born 1884-----died 1962; Bradford Funeral Home marker; 
death date appears first on marker; located east of a grave covered by concrete

Israel, Jim—born 1912-----died 1974; Bradford Funeral Home marker; 
grave is south of John Farrow stone; grave is covered with young pine trees

Israel, Elizabeth—born 1906-----died 1984; Bradford Funeral Home marker; 
grave is south of John Farrow stone; grave is covered with young pine trees

Iseral (sp), William R.—born 1904-----died 1987; Bradford Funeral Home marker; 
grave is south of John Farrow stone; grave is covered with young pine trees

Sullivan, Thad—born 3-8-1877-----died 12-3-1952; grave is north of a large oak tree

(Unknown)—no dates; grave is covered with a concrete slab; a metal funeral 
home marker is present, but cannot be read
