Grace Geraldine Ellis 

Grace Geraldine Ellis, 75, of Hope died Saturday, November 2, 1996 
at her home in Hope.

Born October 1, 1921 in Minden, La., she was employed by Cox's 
Pharmacy in Hope for many years. She was a member of First Baptist 
Church in Hope and the widow of John William `Bill' Ellis.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, November 4, at Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel 
Funeral Home chapel in Hope with Revs. Stan Parris and I.V. Hight 
officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens in Hope under the
direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home of Hope.

Dorothy Killingsworth 

Dorothy Sorrells Killingsworth, 70, formerly of Okolona, died 
Tuesday, November 5, 1996, at Arnold Plaza Retirement Center in 
Hope.

Born June 3, 1926, in Alpine, she was the daughter of the late 
Henry H. and Dixie Wrinkle Sorrells. She was a homemaker, a 
Presbyterian and the widow of Claude Killingsworth.

Survivors include one daughter, Claudette Harris of Prescott; 
three brothers, James O. Sorrells of Hot Springs, Delmer Sorrells 
of Alpine and Charles Sorrells of Murfreesboro; one sister, Martha 
Helen Davis of Hot Springs; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday, November 7, at the Murry-Ruggles 
Funeral Home chapel with Rev. N.C. Bryan officiating. Burial was 
in Weir Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's 
Foundation.

Arch Wylie 

Arch Wylie, 87, of Hope died Thursday, November 7, 1996, in Hope.

Born September 27, 1909 in Guernsey, he was the son of George and 
Lucille Hutchinson Wylie. He was a prominent businessman and civic 
leader, owner of the Wylie Glass and Salvage, a member of
Whitfield Masonic Lodge 239, a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the 
Millwood Shrine Club and a member of the Golden `K' Club. He also 
served on the board of the School of Hope and Hope Sheltered 
Workshop.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a member of 
the Century Bible Class. He had an active part in many other 
organizations of the community. In 1987, he was awarded citizen of 
the year.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Wylie of Hope; two sons, Birkett 
Wylie and Dale Wylie both of Hope; one daughter Ruth Ann Hairston 
of Hope; one sister, Allena Scott of Monroe, La.; six 
grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. 

Services were held Saturday, November 9, at First United Methodist 
Church in Hope with Revs. Davis Thompson and Ralph Hale 
officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens in Hope under the 
direction of Brazzel-Oakcrest Chapel Funeral Home in Hope. 

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 
400, Hope, AR 71802; the School of Hope, 426 S. Main, Hope, AR

Thelma Warnken 

Thelma Warnken, 78, of Blevins died Thursday, November 7, 1996, in 
Hope.

Born November 4, 1918, in Blevins, she was a housewife and a 
Baptist.

Survivors include one brother, R.D. Phillips of Blevins; one 
sister, Anie Lee Brotherton of Blevins; and several nephews and 
nieces.

Services were held Sunday, November 10, at the Shackelford Funeral 
Home chapel in Prescott with Ricky Burke officiating. Burial was 
in Marlbrook Cemetery near Blevins under the direction of 
Shackelford Funeral Home of Prescott.

William Mouser 

William Leslie Mouser, 81, of Hope died Friday, November 8, 1996, 
at Pinehope Nursing Home in Hope.

Born January 29, 1915, in Blevins, he was a millwright for 
Plaswood Company. He was a Nazarene. 

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Hoover Mouser of Hope; four 
sons, James Mouser of Emmet, Doyce Mouser of West Memphis, Wayne 
Mouser of Memphis, Tenn., and David Mouser of Georgetown, Texas; 
three daughters, Audrey Chrustman of West Memphis, Mary Alice 
Thomas of Longview, Texas, and Linda Strunk of Memphis, Tenn; one 
brother, Olen Mouser of Prescott; three sisters, Mildred Vangler 
of Victoria, Texas, Doris McDowell of Houston, Texas, and Arlene 
Pickett of Longview, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and four great 
grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, November 10, at Herndon Funeral Home 
chapel in Hope with Rev. Jackie Wood officiating. Burial was in 
Macedonia Cemetery in Blevins under the direction of Herndon 
Funeral Home.

Alexander Williamson 

Alexander Williamson, 64, of Emmet died Wednesday, November 6, 
1996, at Columbia Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

Born February 11, 1932, in Hempstead County, he was a self-
employed farmer, a veteran of the Korean War and a member of 
Antioch Baptist Church in Hempstead County.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Williamson of Emmet; five 
daughters, Myrtle Joyce Smith of Arkadelphia, Anne Jewell McGill 
of Little Rock, Brenda Carol Hayden of Prescott, Charlotte Briggs 
of Nashville and Gayle Lynette Ross of Fullerton, Calif.; five 
brothers, Ozell Williamson of California, Hiley Williamson of 
Chicago, Ill., Wyatt Williamson Jr. of El Dorado, Benjamin 
Williamson of Clow, and James Williamson of Emmet; seven sisters, 
Arritha Wells of Chicago, Ill., Velma Chambers of Texarkana, 
Texas, Christine Miller of Emmet, Bobbie McFayden of Maywood, 
Ill., Essie Morrison of Hope, Eunice Adams of Texarkana, Texas, 
Helen Mathis of Emmet; eight grandchildren; and two great 
grandchildren.

Services were held Monday, October 11, at Brazzel-Cornish Funeral 
Home chapel in Prescott with Rev. Rondy Briggs officiating. Burial 
was in Antioch Cemetery in Hempstead County under the direction of 
Brazzel-Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

Jakie McKinnon 

Jakie McKinnon, 45, of Prescott was killed near his deer camp on 
Saturday, November 9, 1996.

He was a member of Central Baptist Church, and a neighborhood 
volunteer for the American Cancer Society. He was an employee of 
Union Pacific Railroad and a membr of Brotherhood Maintainance Way
Lodge 1127.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey McKinnon, who died 
in 1959, and Clyda Brown McKinnon, who died in 1994.

Survivors include two daughters, Mandy Harris of Prescott and 
Holly McKinnon of Emmet; one son, Cody McKinnon of Walls, Miss.; 
three sisters, Mary Cottingham, Judy Martin and Joan Barton, all 
of Prescott; two brothers, Thomas McKinnon and Ralph McKinnon, 
both of Prescott; a special friend, Kandy Palmer of Amity; and two 
grandchildren.

Services were held Thursday, November 14, at Central Baptist 
Church in Prescott. Burial was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near 
Prescott under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home of

Howard Rhodes 

Howard Rhodes, 71, of Caney died Monday, November 11, 1996, at his 
home after a lengthy illness.

Born on October 28, 1925, he was the son of Albert and Letha 
Rhodes. He was a self-employed farmer, a member of Morris Baptist 
Church, a mason and a World War II veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Louise Rhodes of Caney; three sons, 
Ellis Rhodes of Laneburg, Mike Rhodes of North Little Rock and 
Bill Rhodes of Caney; one sister, Helen Jordan of Prescott; and 
six grandchildren.

Services were held Wednesday, November 13, at Morris Baptist 
Church with Rev. Junior Loe and Rev. Raymond Hicks officiating. 
Burial was in Caney Cemetery under the direction of Brazzel-
Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

James Newton Daniel 

James Newton Daniel, 78, of Prescott died Saturday, November 16, 
1996, in Laneburg.

Born February 4, 1916, in Laneburg, he was a retired sales manager 
for Arkansas Power and Light, a veteran of World War II, a 32nd 
degree Mason and a member of First Presbyterian Church of 
Prescott.

Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Christian of Little Rock; 
one brother, Gatley Daniel of Ft. Myers, Fla.; two sisters, 
Rebecca Daniel of Prescott and Bernice Hammonds of Chagrin Falls, 
Ohio; two grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Services were held Monday, November 18, at First Presbyterian 
Church in Prescott with Janet Ruark officiating. Burial was in 
DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott under the direction of Shackelford 
Funeral Home of Prescott. Memorials may be made to First 
Presbyterian Church of Prescott.

Iva Wright Rogers 

Iva Anna Wright Rogers, 92, of Prescott, formerly of Camden, died 
Sunday, November 17.

She was the widow of Wylie Rogers and was a Baptist. She was 
preceded in death by one son, Wiliam Hays.

Survivors include two sons, Emmett Hays of Chicago, Ill., and 
Richard Hays of Prescott; and eight grandchildren.

Graveside services and burial were Tuesday, November 19, at 
Greenwood Cemetery in Camden with Dr. Ralph Hale officiating. 
Interment was under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home of 
Camden.

Sally Mae Armstrong 

Sally Mae Armstrong, 71, of Prescott died Monday, November 18, 
1996, in St. Michael Health Care Center in Texarkana, Texas.

Born November 9, 1925, in Prescott, she was the daughter of George 
and Beulah Hale. She was a computer supervisor with San Bernardino 
County in California, a Baptist and the widow of William 
Armstrong.

Survivors include two sons, William Bernard Armstrong of San 
Bernardino and Charles Nevin Armstrong of San Jose, Calif.; one 
brother, Joseph Hale of Little Rock; three sisters, Aristene Young 
and Georgia Stephens, both of Chicago, Ill., and Ora Wiley of 
Prescott; and four grandchildren.

Services were held Saturday, November 23, at Macedonia Baptist 
Church at Boughton with Rev. Elizie Young officiating. Burial was 
in Washington Hill Cemetery under the direction of Mitchell 
Funeral Home of Arkadelphia.

Mary Ann Hanson 

Mary Ann Hanson, 59, of Levelland, Texas, formerly of Prescott, 
died Thursday, November 14, 1996, at Methodist Hospital in 
Levelland.

Born February 4, 1937, in Prescott, she moved to Levelland in 1963 
from Lubbock, Texas. She was a graduate of South Plains College 
with an associate of applied science degree in accounitng. She was 
a member of First Baptist Church in Levelland. She was a secretary 
for the social and behavioral sciences and the business 
adminstration departments at South Plains College.

Survivors include her husband, Bill of Levelland; a son, Jimmy of 
Nashville; a daughter, Anita of Lubbock; her mother, Polly Clark 
of Prescott; and two sisters, Wanda Haynie of Prescott and Nell 
Rose Butler of Bodcaw.

Services were held Monday, November 18, at First Baptist Church in 
Levelland with the Revs. Donald Moreland and Steve Vernon 
officiating. Graveside services were held Tuesday, November 19, in 
Goldthwaite Memorial Cemetery in Goldwaithe, Texas, under the 
direction of George C. Price Funeral Directors of Leveland.

A.M.E. Church in Prescott.

Survivors include his wife, Eloise Langston of Prescott; three 
sons, Archie Lee Langston Jr. and James Robert Langston, both of 
Kansas City, Mo., and Jerry Don Langston of Louisville, Ky.; one 
daughter, Hazel Mae Langston of Kansas City, Mo.; one bother, 
Elued Langston of Prescott; one sister, Lillie Mae Piggie of 
Tacoma, Wash.; six grandchildren; and one great grandson.

Services were held Tuesday, November 26, at Corthan Chapel A.M.E. 
Church in Prescott with Rev. Monteal Rhynes officiating. Burial 
was in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott under the direction of 
Brazzel-Cornsih Funeral Home of Prescott.

Myrtie M. Jones 

Myrtie M. Jones, 90, of Prescott died Friday, November 29, 1996.

Born July 15, 1906, in Waldo, she was a housewife, a member of the 
Church of Christ and the widow of Mort Jones, who passed away in 
1963.

Survivors include four sons, Harold Jones of Murfreesboro, Donald 
Jones of Delight, Jerry Jones of Cabot and Johnny Jones of 
Prescott; one daughter, Dorothy Dale of Prescott; one sister, 
Minnie Johnson of New Orleans, La.; 21 grandchildren; 21 great 
grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Services were held Sunday, December 1, at the Church of Christ in 
Prescott with Gene Cloer and Harley Sisson officiating. Burial was

Herbert M. and Tennessee M. House Ridgell, a metal worker for 
Reynolds Metal Company and member of Boughton Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Marie Ridgell of Prescott; two 
sons, Herbert Dwayne Ridgell and Paul Ridgell, both of Prescott; 
two daughters, Charolette Kay Wren of Prescott and Baletta 
Crabtree of Dallas, Texas; one brother, Joe Ridgell of Cumby, 
Texas; three sisters, Evelyn Hooks, Elsie Elmore and Katie 
Pittman, all of Prescott; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great 
grandchildren.

Laura Elva Reese, 91, of Baton Rouge, La., formerly of Prescott, 
died Monday, December 16, 1996, in Baton Rouge.

She was a housewife, the and a Baptist. She is the widow of Loyd 
Reese and was also preceded in death by one son and two daughters.

Survivors include two sons, Wayne Reese of Bedford, Texas, and 
Donald Reese of Copperas Cove, Texas; two daughters, Cora 
Wilkinson of Baton Rouge, La., and Mary Yarberry of Mesquite, 
Texas; two brothers, Wells Fielding of Hot Springs and Jack 
Fielding of Hope; three sisters, Ester Reese of Prescott, Louise

Jamie McRae 

Jamie McRae, 88, of Prescott died Wednesday, December 18, 1996, in 
St. Joseph's Regional Health Center in Hot Springs.

Born December 15, 1908, in Prescott, she was a homemaker, a member 
of the First Baptist Church in Prescott and the widow of John 
Thomas McRae.

Survivors include one daughter, Gertrude Pogue of Royal; three 
grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great great 
grandchild.

Services were held Saturday, December 21, at Brazzel-Cornish 
Funeral Home chapel in Prescott with Revs. Milton Cowling and
