Ruby Irene Higgs Young, 88, of Clarksville, formerly of Knoxville, died 
Sunday, June 4, 2006, at Johnson Regional Medical Center.

She was a daughter of the late Charles A. and Jennie Lamb Turner, widow of 
James W. Higgs and Ellis Young, member of First Baptist Church of Knoxville, 
retired Johnson Regional Medical Center food service employee after 18  years, 
and was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Andrew Turner, and one 
sister, Mary Caswell. 

She is survived by one brother, Nolen Green Turner of California; four 
sisters, Etta M. Brown and Floy E. Clubb, both of Knoxville, Inez Selby and 
husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, and Charlene Meecham of Ely, Nev.; one sister-
in-law, Cecelia Turner of California; 13 stepchildren; and numerous nieces and 
nephews.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, at the First Baptist Church in 
Knoxville with Rev. Richard Snyder officiating.

Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Cox Funeral 
Home.

Active pallbearers will be Darrell E. Clubb, Kenneth E. Selby, Allen W. Brown, 
Gordon E. Higgs, Hartsel Hankins and Jerry Hankins.

Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Roller-Cox Funeral 
Home.
