She was a native of Pettigrew, daughter of the late Theo and Etta Hammond Carlton, widow of Ell Edgmon, and charter member of the Mossville United Baptist Church. She is survived by four daughters, Marilyn Bennett of San Lorenzo, Calif., Modena Stevens of Stilwell, Okla., Betty Liggett of Deer, and Effie Gilmore of Ozone; one son, Jim Edgmon of Clarksville; two sisters, Elva Shelton of Fayetteville and Jewell Edwards of Santa Maria, Calif.; three brothers, Leonard Carlton of Cane Hill, Loren Carlton of Stilwell, Okla., and Robert Carlton of Wesley; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a son of the late Alphones and Pearl Hanks Newman, member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church at Scranton, retired cattle farmer, former Scranton School Board member, former owner and operator of the Albert Newman Winery, and retired owner and operator of the Friendly Tavern at Scranton after 36 years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bobbye Walker Newman; two daughters, Patty Adams of Paris and Susan Linker of Vilonia; one son, Mike Newman of Lavaca; one foster son, Ronnie King of Subiaco; one brother, Phillip Newman of Prairie View; four grandchildren, Chris Adams and Michelle Adams, both of Paris, Angela Adams and Melonie Newman, both of Conway; and one great-granddaughter, Madison Adams of Paris. She is survived by two daughters, Pamela Kellison of Honolulu, Hawaii, and Andrea Rowell of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, Glenn Chamberlain of Palmer, Alaska; one sister, Mary Simpson of Clarksville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was a graduate of Clarksville High School, received a bachelor of science degree from The College of the Ozarks in 1922, and a master of education degree from the University of Arkansas in 1955, a retired elementary school teacher after having taught in Clarksville for 37 years, life member of the Arkansas Retired Teachers Association, and a member of the Faith Hope Circle and the What So Ever Sunday School Class of the First United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Albert B. and Frances Wood Misenhimer and was preceded in death by one sister, Vera Misenhimer King, and two brothers, Denver Misenhimer and Ralph Misenhimer. She is survived by three nieces, Frances Misenhimer Pettit of Corning, Daveda Arms Misenhimer of Paragould, and Anne Misenhimer Crofoot of Morrilton; numerous late generation nieces and nephews; and cousins. Seabolt, 68, of Uniontown died Sunday, Jan. 3, 1999, at his home. He was a graduate of the University of the Ozarks, a Methodist, retired mathematics teacher at Van Buren Junior High School after 28 years, a three-time winner of the State Golden Gloves Championships, an inductee into the University of the Ozarks Hall of Fame, organized and operated the Crawford County Boxing Club, and served as Southwest Regional president and local and state secretary for the Fraternal Order of Eagles. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Norma J. Seabolt, 67, who died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, one day prior to his death. He is survived by five daughters, Carol Lynn Rebsamen of Atlanta, Ga., Deborah Crescenti of Wilmington, Ill., Karen Meachum of Duncanville, Texas, Katrinka Hurt of Altus, and Toni Grandon of Kibler; three sons, Billy K. Howell of Clarksville, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, in a Houston, Texas, hospital. She was a native of Scotts Bluff, Neb., daughter of the late W. R. and Myrtle Stewart Boggs, former resident of Clarksville, graduate of Clarksville High School, attended the University of the Ozarks, and served as a pharmacistmate in the U. S. Navy during World War II. She is survived by one son, one daughter, one other sister, one brother, and three grandchildren. A memorial service was held Sunday, Jan. 10, in Denton, Texas. S. Air Force Reserves, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, in Loma Linda, Calif. He attended the University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1976, and served as president of the Yamma-Yamma Club. He was a native of Chicago, Ill., former resident of Monmouth, Ill., son of the late Dr. Harold F. Wimp, and a member of Bible Fellowship Church in Hemet, Calif. He served in the Desert Shield and Desert Storm in the 1990s. He was currently the logistics officers in the U. S. Air Force Reserves with the 701st Combat Operations Squadron at March AFB in California. He was a lifetime member of the Reserve Officers Association where he served as a past president and board member. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Donna L. John Walbe, 82, died at Abbey Health Center in Subiaco. He was born Benedict Walbe, son of Aloys and Catherine Schlaf Walbe, in Morrison Bluff. He graduated from Subiaco Academy in 1938 and entered the Abbey novitiate that same year. At his profession of vows on Sept. 16, 1939, he took the religious name of John. Father John was ordained to the priesthood in 1944 by Bishop Albert L. Fletcher at Saint Andrew Cathedral in Little Rock. Father John was an instructor at Subiaco Academy for the 1944-45 school term and from 1945-50 served as assistant pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Muenster, Texas, before becoming a three-year faculty member of Corpus Christi College in Corpus Christi, Texas. From 1953-92 Father John was pastor of seven different parishes in Texas and Arkansas served by the Abbey and his pastorship included St. Scholastica at Shoal Creek, St. Mary's at Altus; St. Boniface at Fort Smith; and St. Benedict at Subiaco. He was also twice assistant pastor at St. Edward in Little Rock. Father John was pastor in Texas of St. Joseph in Rhineland, where he built a school and church rectory, St. Peter in Lindsay and St. Mary in Fort Worth. He retired from parish ministry in 1992 but continued to substitute at nearby parishes as needed. He began residency in 1998 in the Abbey Health Center where he served as chaplain. He is survived by one sister, Sister Elaine Walbe of the Benedictine Sisters of Fort Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Christian Wake service was held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, and the Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, in Saint Benedict Church at Subiaco.
