A. F. Nixon

The funeral of A. F. Nixon, Confederate veteran, who died at his home here 
yesterday at the age of 77, will be conducted at 10 o'clock Friday morning
from his residence at 1819 East Pullen Street (Pine Bluff, Ark) by Dr. H.A. 
Stowell, Rector of Trinty Episcopal Church.

The following pallbearers have been selected:
Honorary -- J. C. Hierchspell, A. Brewster, L. West, G. W. Maupin, N. R. 
Rodgers, H. A. McCoy,  

Active -- Quint Short, I. N. Danials, Joe Cook, Fred Bluerock, Fred Enderby and 
Harry Whelan.

Additional Comments:

Alfred Franklin Nixon, son of John W. Nixon & Eleanor/Elender/Ellen Jones was 
born in Georgia, most likely Old Campbell Co., Georgia (area became Fulton Co. 
in 1932).  He was married twice.  1st to Louisa Caroline "Carrie" Dougherty, 
daughter of James G. Doughtery & Rhoda Ann Hairston, abt 7 Feb 1875, most 
likely in Atlanta, Ga.  Two known children from this marriage: George Andrew 
Nixon and Carrie May Nixon (Mrs. William Burrus Toler).

After her death, he married 2nd to Nancy Elizabeth Tarrence on 24 August 1878 
in Cleburne Co., Alabama.  Five known chidren:
