This indenture made and entered into this the 20th day of May 1857 between John 
L. T. McKinne and Wm. E. his wife, of the first part and and Richard Washington 
of the second part, witnesseth, that the said parties of the first part have for 
value received, bargained and sold and conveyed unto the said party of the 
second part, his heirs and assigns forever, the sum of about eleven hundred and 
sixty four dollars, now in the hands of Dawson T. Durham formerly Guardian to 
the said Wm. E. and which said sum was given to the said Wm. E. in the division 
of the lands of her father Wm. Smith deceased for owelty or equality of 
partition. And the said party of the second part is hereby authorized to execute 
all proper releases and requittances for the same.
