		Cleda Vae "nannie" (Turner) Stephens  
 

Mrs. Cleda Turner Stephens, 84, of Little Rock, formerly of Newport, died
Tuesday at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock. Born in Branch, she was a
homemaker and was a member of the First United Methodist Church. A 
volunteer for the American Red Cross, she had worked several years for the
Little Rock Public Library. She attended Arkansas State Teachers College. 

Survivors include one son, Mike Stephens of Maumelle; three daughters, 
Kay Shelton of Paragould, Jo Alice Gillihan of Springfield, Mo., and Sharon
Stegall of Springdale; one brother, Wofford Turner of San Antonio, Texas; 
11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy S. Stephens Sr., one son, 
five brothers and two sisters. 

Graveside services will be held at 10 Friday morning at Walnut Grove 
Cemetery, with Larry Martineau officiating. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at Jackson's Newport Funeral 
Home.
