"JACKSONPORT CEMETERY
by James Logan Morgan"

"In the 1840's, a cemetery was established at Jacksonport. It is
located [on] a slight hill in the east end of town, about a hundred feet
north of Arkansas Highway 69. It is overgrown. When this inventory was
prepared in 1964, three stones were located, two upright and one broken
in two pieces. There was evidence of other burials, and there were
probably more stones at one time, although few of the 'old Jacksonport
families' used this cemetery because of the low eleveation of the area,
making it susceptible to flooding."
