PIONEER CEMETERY

The Pioneer Cemetery is also known as the Old Batesville Cemetery. It is
located on Boswell Street in downtown Batesville, behind the library and
down the street and on the opposite side of the Batesville Post Office.
This survey was taken August 25, 2001 by Cindy Treadway.

At the front of the cemetery is a four sided monument. Inscribed on its
base is this: In loving memeory of our Independence County sons who

eternity as we, their friends and loved ones keep their memory alive in
our minds and hearts.
