Elsie Morris Smith

    Elsie Morris Smith, 78, of Sheridan, Ark., was born June 12,
1923, in Sheridan to the late Daniel (Koon) Mooris and Allie (Dollie)
Talbert Morris. She died Sept. 24, 2001 in the Ashley County Medical
Center in Crossett.
    Mrs. Smith was a retired high school cafeteria cook, a member of
Egypt Missionary Baptist Church at Hamburg, and was preceded in death
by her husband, the Rev. Lloyd Oby Smith Sr., who died April 9, 2001.
    Survivors are her sons and their wives: Oby and Carolyn Smith of
Sheridan and William James and Nancy Smith of  Hamburg; a step-
brother: Danny Morris of Sheridan; sister: Malissie Gates of Pine
Bluff; four grandchildren and their spouses: Clayton and Julie Smith,
Jason and Cindi Smith, Beverly and Stephen Ward, Shelly and Chris
Elmore; and  seven great-grandchildren C.J., Kylie, Samuel, Rena,
Jacob, Sarah and Allie.
    Funeral services were held Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. in the Buie Funeral
Home Chapel in Sheridan. The Rev. Dale Crumby and the Rev. Jason
Smith officiated. Burial was in the Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan.
    Pallbearers were: Clayton Smith, Jimmy Craig, Chris Elmore, John
Craig, Sparky Hedden, Gary Kelly, Rayvon Vailes and Stephen Ward.
    Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Diabetic Association.
