Services Held For Elder Z. T. Rooks

     Services were held Sunday afternoon for Elder Zim
Turner Rooks of the Pine Tree Community, who died Saturday
morning at his home after a long illness.  He was 76 years
of age.
     Mr. Rooks was born in Cross County and had lived here
all of his life.  He was a minister for the Clark's Chapel
Baptist Church for most of his adult life.
     The service was conducted at Clark's Chapel by Rev.
Fred Sudduth of Parkin, Rev. W. J. Garner of Wynne and Rev.
J. F. Manning of Bay.  Burial was in the Vanndale Cemetery
with Kernodle Funeral Home in charge.
     Mr. Rooks leaves his wife, Mrs. Alleyne Rooks; four
sons, Miles of near Cherry Valley, Emmett and T. D. of
Cherry Valley and Edward Rooks of Crawfordsville; two
daughters, Mrs. P. B. Aaron of Shreveport, La., and Mrs.
 W. I. Crawford of Harrisburg; one sister, Mrs. Lula Long
of Cherry Valley; one brother, Lee Rooks of McCrory; a
stepson, Berger Ellis of Wynne; a stepdaughter, Mrs.
Harold Neill of Colt; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-
grandchildren.
