Joseph Freeman Grantham  (my mother's father)

April 16, 1942
    J.F. Grantham 50 of Colt died at his home at ten o'clock this morning 
following an illness of two months.
    He was employed by the R.T. Simmons orchard.
    Survivors include his widow, three sons, Pelton, Havis, and Charlie 
Grantham; and two daughters, Rachel Grantham and Josephine Martin.
    Funeral services will be conducted at the New Hope church Friday 
morning at 11 o'clock with the internment at the Hughes Cemetery, 
Kernodle Funeral home is in charge.
