Wynne Progress, October 1947
Funeral services for Mrs. Curtner (63)were held at Kernodle Funeral Home today
at 3 P.M. She was buried at Cogbill Cemetery, the Rev. Oscar Evanson of the
First Methodist Church and Rev. Ray Woodell of the Wynne Baptist Church
officiated. Mrs. Curtner who had not been ill died unexpectedly at 8:30 A.M.
Sunday morning she had gotten up to make breakfast when she became deathly ill.
Mrs. Curtner was born in Harrisburg and married Abner Byron Curtner in 1908
coming to Wynne shortly after his death 25 yrs. ago. She was a member of the
Methodist Church. Pallbearers were Warren Chowning, Robert Chowning, Richard
Ellis, David Hall, Bob Turner, Paul Barron, Carthel Thielke and Coburn Howell.
Surviving her are her daughter Mrs. Musette C. Misner; 2 sons Jennings "Bud"
Curtner and LeRoy Curtner; 2 grandchildren Glenn Stacy Misner and Tommie Lee
Curtner, all of Wynne, 2 brothers J.T. Duke of N. Little Rock and J.A. Duke of
Thayer, MO., 2 sisters Mrs. J.B. Young of Germantown, TN. and Miss Dicie Duke of
Wynne.
