Rose, Caroline Davis - Mrs. F. Rose died at her home in east Bentonville 
Saturday after an illness of several weeks.  Mrs. Rose was born January 
1, 1856 in Carter county, Missouri, her mother dying when she was but 
four years old, she was reared by her grandparents.  Her father passed 
away when she was 16 years of age.  Her grandparents moved to Benton 
county many years ago and settled near Rogers where she grew to young 
womanhood.  Caroline Davis married Mr. F. Rose and they made their home 
on a farm north of town until 25 years ago when they moved to town to 
reside.  Mr. Rose died about 11 years ago and she was again left alone 
excepting for her children, Mrs. Mary Cash and Mrs. Julia Say Kelley of 
Bentonville, and W. R. Rose of Bentonville and Bose Rose of Little 
Rock.  In her bereavement she was alone as both her sons served in the 
World War.  W. R. Rose served in action in the front lines and Bose did 
also.  He is suffering from effect of gas and is still disabled.  
Besides her children, she is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. Velma 
Searcy, and one great granddaughter.  Funeral services were held at the 
home on Monday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, the services in the charge of 
the Rev. J. D. Allen, pastor of the Baptist church, and assisted by the 
Rev. A. W. Henderson of the Presbyterian church.  Burial was made in the 
City Cemetery under the direction of Kerr & Callison Undertaking 
Company.  Mrs. Rose was converted and united with the Dug Hill Baptist 
Church.  She was a true and faithful Christian and a good neighbor, ever 
helpful in time of illness or need.  She had a hard life but had ever 
been cheerful and hopeful and her children have ever been most 
beautifully devoted to her.  [Benton County Record & Democrat & Sun 3/29/28]

Mrs. Caroline Rose died at her home in Bentonville on Saturday, March 
24th after a long illness.  She was born in Missouri on January 1st, 
1856, her mother dying when she was a small child.  After the death of 
her father she moved to Benton County with her grandparents.  She was 
married to F. Rose and to this union four children were born:  two 
daughters, Mrs. Mary Cash and Mrs. Julia Say of Bentonville; two sons, 
W. R. Rose, also of Bentonville, and Bose Rose of Little Rock.  Her 
eldest son, W. R. rose, who is one of the proprietors of the O. K. Meat 
Market of Bentonville, and Bose Rose, the other son served in the World 
War and saw active service.  Funeral services were conducted at the 
residence in charge of Revs. J. D. Allen and A. W. Henderson and burial 
was made in the city cemetery of Bentonville.  [Benton County Herald 4/5/28]
