Levi Oliver Woods,a farmer residing two and a fourth miles east of Bentonville, Ark., is a native of the county, born in 1848. He is a son of Dysart and Sarah (Holmes) Woods, whose sketch appears in this work, and was reared on a farm. He made his home with his father until the latter's death, and in 1877 was married to Miss Nora Bates, who was born in Dade County, Mo., in 1855, and a daughter of Owen and Millie (Reed) Bates. Mr. and Mrs. Woods became the parents of three children: Millie, Francis Dysart and William Harrison. Mr. Woods resided on the old home farm, which consists of 132 acres, until 1887, and then removed to the farm of sixty-seven acres where he now resides. He has erected himself a nice residence, and has a cozy and comfortable home. He has always made Benton County his home, and has never been out of the county more than three months during his life. He has ever supported the principles of the Democratic party, and he and wife are members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
