J.H. Johnson as administrator of G.W. Etheridge deceased presents the following
as his annual settlement of said Estate.

J.L. Holloway Six hundred dollars of the money and that had since then and has
judgment in the Ashley Circuit Court against them for that amount and interest
on the same and that he loaned to J. Norwoods, E.T. Norris, S.F. Stroop , W.C.
Kinbow & T. D. Norris five hundred dollars in gold and that he was s… there and
has judgment in the Ashley Circuit Court for it equivalent in gold to wit: Six
hundred and Ninety three dollars & 32/100.
I have also to report a judgment against Robert Holmes in the Ashley Circuit for
articles bought at the sale amounting to three hundred and twenty nine 84/100
dollars all of which of collected will be accounted for at the next term if not
I shall in my next Annual Settlement claim credit for same. All of which is
respectfully submitted.

In the family carriage (91) and Gin Stand (228) the widow is still entitled to
Dower. The family carriage & harness as have sold to L. Cammack, Jr. for $185
falling due 12th April 1863 with interest at 10 pr cent from deed. The old Gin
Stand yet unsold. As owing to the disturbed stated of public affairs it may not
be expedient or practiable to sell of or divide the Estate for some time to come
we submit the following as a list of the negroes and chattels remaining on hand
and being worked for the benefit of the Estate amongst which are the effects

Of the Cotton crop of 1861 we have yet on hand 94 bales. We have sold 99 bales
and allotted & delivered to the widow 47 bales on account of her dower in said
Cotton crop as already shown this is all of said crop to wit 240 Bales. As to
the crop of corn fodder and other produce of 1861 what remained on hand after
allotment of the Widows dower has been or will be necessarily consumed in
carrying on the farm the present year. We are chargeable with the following sums
realized by us on account of the Estate and which we have state as in the notion
of additional inventory to wit:  
Amount paid us by A.J. Findley on account of land of himself his mother,
brother, horses and mule and for rope and bagging and allowed us for interest on
payment made on the 2nd & 3rd $2666.66 1/3 notes before due  $854.17

the widow for her dower in $2014.71 of said notes by virtue of the order of this
Court touching the same made in said proceeding concerning her dower and of our
tender of that amount of said claims to her as shown in our report to the last
term of this Court. Items claiming that $2014.71 of said Everett notes is past
further accounting for in our administration except that as on to have credit as
herein after stated for the land so bought to the Estate to wit the $1343.14 in
notes and $1056.86 in cash laid out for it in all $2400. But this debt as above
is $1343.14. In the above cash credits in same no claim for dower exists in the
others it has been extinguished. Out of the following dower is still due so we
proceed to charge ourselves with account collected on one of the Tebbs notes say
on 8th April 1861

To the Hon Probate Court of Ashley County Arkansas. The undersigned W.P. Fisher
& D.J. Cammack as admrs of the Estate of John P. Fisher decd hereby submit the
following as their second annual settlement of said administration--
As to all the negroes of said Estate except those in the hand of the widow as
dower they were by proceedings had in this court within as application make at
the July term 1860 divided among the six heirs of the estate we being ourselves
two of the heirs and being respectfully guardian of the other heirs hereby admit
that the negroes allowed to each were properly delivered and so are no longer in
our hands and Admrs but are now and from about the first of the yr or 1863 have
been in our hands respectively in our own rights and as guardians in accordance
with said division the report of which was filed 28th Oct 1862.  

 
As to the Negro woman Hester and her children Cordes, Luke & Celeo it was ruled
by the Chancery Court of Ashley County upon a bill filed therein against us by
R.& L. Sanders that said negroes were not the property of Fishers Estate but
holden by it only by way of mortgage so we are chargeable not with said negroes
but with the mortgage debt secured by therein. Said debt has been paid no and
the negroes gives up the amount of the debt so realized us was. $1122.00 
 

 
On 2nd Feby 1863 in pursuance of an order of this amount we made a public sale
of the perishable effects except some items here in after to be noticed. Said
sale amounted to the sum of $7651.56 with interest at 10 per cent from date -- a
considerable portion however was paid down in Confederate money for the balance
notes were taken due at 12 months – in? this and future settlements we will
charge ourselves with whatever sums of interest we may from time to time realize
and in their settlement we will charge ourselves with the total amount of sales
bill if any of the sale notes should without fault of ours fail to be collected
we shall claim credit by item $7651.56 up to this time we have realized of
interest on above named notes as per statement herewith filed marked A of the
sum of $79.27
 

 
At the public sale of the perishable effects on 2nd Feby 1863 the corn fodder
and cotton raised on the farm the year 1862 were not sold – but corn & fodder
and some other small items over looked at the sale were afterwards sold by us at
