Mary Jane Robbins married Wm. Cleasby in LaFayette Co. Mary Jane's Parents 
were John & 
Grace Vale came from Cornwall, England.  Wm's parents were David Cleasby & 
Sarah 
Brainbridge came from Yorkshire, England. In about 1864, Wm Cleasby, his wife 
& two 
children--Emily Ann & Sarah moved to Pleasent Valley, Eau Claire Co. 
Wisconsin. 
He came by boat up the Mississippi River to Alma, Wi. and moved across country 
from 
Alma with one horse wagon & drove cattle a distants of 40 miles. They lived at 
Pleasant 
Valley for 9 yrs. then moved to Beef River Valley, Buffalo Co. His wife died 
in 1883. 
To this union 12 children were born. In 1890 he retired from farm-life living 
in Eleva
until 1906. When he moved with his second wife & four children, to Elbow, 
Canada.
He died there on Dec. 22, 1918. He was brought back to Pleasant Valley, & 
buried next to 
Mary Jane, in Hadleyville cemetery.
