MRS. WILLIAM SMITH SR.

Mrs. William Smith Sr., aged 57 years, of 54 South Cedar street, died in her 
home, of a heart attack, at 12:05 this morning, following an illness of one 
week.  She had been bedfast the past two days.

Mrs. Smith, before marriage, was Alice Polgrean.  She was born at Stockton, but 
had been a resident of Hazleton practically her entire life.

Surviving is her husband; four children, Howard, William, Jr., Mrs. Bernard 
Reese, Mrs. Russell Maue; two brothers, William Polgrean, of this city, and 
Edward, of New Haven, Conn., and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Minford, of 
Philadelphia.

Three grandchildren also survive.
