    Orange County       }

       I Elizabeth Wells of the County of Orange
and State of North Carolina being of sound
mind and memory but considering the
uncertainty of my earthly Existance do
make and declare this my my[sic] last Will
and testament in manner and form
following that is to say

Fest[first] That my Executor hereinafter named
Shall provide for my body a decent burial
suitable to the Wishes of my Relations and
and[sic] friends and pay all funeral Expences
together With my Just debts howsoever to
whomsoever owing out of the moneys that
may first come into his hands as a part
or parcel of my Estate

Item I give and devise to my Grand[d]aughter
Tillitha Turner Wells one Bed and furniture

Item I give and devise to my said Elisha
Wells One hundred Dollars in Money
to be paid out of my Estate by my
Executor of the first money which may come
in his hands from the sale of my Property
after paying all Just debts

My further Wish and desire is that the
Balance of my property all to be sold
and the proceeds of the sale to be Equally
devided among all my Children (Viz)

Nancey Smith Bodily heirs John H Wells
Azonath P Wells Elisha S Wells William W.
Wells & James Wells Share and Share a[sic]
alike

And lastly I hearby constitute and appoint
my trusted friend Benjamin Wells my
lawfull executor to all intents and purposes
to Executed[sic] this my last Will and testament
according to the true intent and Meaning
of the same and every part and Clause
theareof hearby revoking and declaring
utterly void all other Wills and testament[s]
by my heartofor made

    In Witness whereof I the Said Elizabeth Wells
to heareunto Set my hand and seal this
6th day of March AD 1854

         Orange County Court May Term 1854
The Execution of the foregoing last Will and
Testament of Elizabeth Wells was duly proved
in open Court by the oath of Eli J Hester one
of the subscribing witnesses thereto and
orderdered[sic] to be recorded and at the same
time Benjamin Wells the Executor therein named
appeared in open Court and qualified as
such by taking the oath required by law
