October 7, 1954 - July 29, 2014
Ian S. “Eli” Farquhar Port Huron Ian S. “Eli” Farquhar, 59, of Port Huron, died 
unexpectedly Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Harper Hospital, Detroit.  He was born 
October 7, 1954 in Port Huron to the late Dale and Frances Farquhar.  He married 
Gail Mazure on October 21, 1977 in St.
Clair.  Eli worked for Huron Inc. for 19 years and most recently for Semco Gas 
Company as a Dispatcher for over 10 years.  He enjoyed sports, especially golf 
and baseball and working in his yard. 

He is survived by his wife, Gail; his son, Richard (Laura) Farquhar; daughter, 
Kristy (fiancee’, Christopher Pretto) Farquhar; four grandchildren, Matthew, 
Brittany, Kadence and Dominic; three sisters, Sandy Farquhar, Wendy (Butch) 
Artman and Deena (Chris) Lynch; four brothers, Paul Farquhar, Dan (Arlene) 
Farquhar, Mark (Tina) Farquhar and Matt Farquhar; sisters in law, Kari Farquhar 
and Bev (Gary) Brougham; and several nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in 
death by two brothers, Ken and Tom. 

Visiting hours will be 5-9 p.m. Friday in Smith Family Funeral Home-North.  
Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday August 2, 2014 in Smith 
Family Funeral Home-North, 1525 Hancock Street, Port Huron with visitation 
following the service until 11:00 a.m.  Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.  
Memorials may be made to Peoples’ Clinic or Midcity Nutrition Soup Kitchen.
