Billy Pannell
Billy Pannell, 73, of Smackover, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002, at his
residence.
Born Jan. 28, 1928, in Norphlet, he was the son of Charley D. Pannell,
and Edna Wallace Pannell.  He was a lifetime resident of Union County,
and was retired from Rutledge-Daniels Oil Co.  He was a member of Joyce
City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Veleta Hight Pannell of Smackover; two sons,
Billy Gene Pannell of Minden, La. and Rex Pannell of Chidester; daughter,
Carolyn Pannell Moore of Ed Dorado; six stepchildren, Lonnie Gene Massey
of New Orleans, La., Terry Lynn Massey of Hot Springs, Michael Dale
Massey of Camden, Perry James Massey of Smackover, Brenda Babin of New
Orleans and Donna Jean Hutchison of Houston; two brothers, Jack Pannell
of Mira, La., and Charles Pannell of Kingfisher, Okla.; as sister, Myrtis
Pannell Hicks of Norphlet; six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 7, at Faith Assembly of God with
the Rev. Monroe Hill officiating.  A private family interment was held.
