W. D. Marrable 1922 El Dorado Times

   W.D. Marrable, a pioneer resident of Union County, died at 
his home southwest of El Dorado Friday. Mr. Marrable was 83 
years old, and came to Union County when he was 6 years old, 
his parents coming over from Alabama where he was born. W.D. 
Marrable served in the 13th LA Partisan Rangers Unit in the 
service of the  Confederate States of America during the War 
for Southern Independence. He was taken prisoner at Lake
Providence, LA and shipped to the Old City Prison in Washington 
D.C. and later paroled at City Point, Virginia.
   Funeral Services will be held from the Marrable home Sunday 
afternoon, and will be conducted by the Reverend John W. Teese, 
of Conway. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery south of El Dorado.
   The deceased is survived by his widow, Julia Prothro Marrable, 
four sons, T.C. and C.E. Marrable of El Dorado, D.W. Marrable of 
Fort Worth, J.A.Marrable of Magnolia, four daughters, Mrs. W.C. 
Purdue, Miss Minnie Marrable of El Dorado, Mrs. J.F. Hanie and 
Mrs. H.L. DeFee of Forth Worth.
   Mr. W.D. Marrable was of the Christadelphian Faith.
