He was retired from Amaco Oil Co., a veteran of WWII, and a member of Pilot Prairie Presbyterian Church. BETTY RUTH HENDRICK Mrs. Betty Ruth Hendrick, of Mena,, died Tuesday, January 13, 1998 at the Mena Medical Center. She was born on September 11, 1922 in Charlotte, Texas Her age being 75 years, four months and two days. Mrs. Hendrick was the daughter of the late Rhim Love and the late Betty Stinson Love. She was united in marriage to Curtis Hendrick on May 28, 1942 in San Antonio, Texas. She made her home in Mena for the past six months moving from Waldron, was a school teacher, a member of the Eastern Star, and the First Baptist Church of Waldron. Survivors include her husband, Curtis Hendrick, of Mena; one daughter, Jane Pate, of Mena; one son, Curtis Edward Hendrick, of Granite Bay, California; two sisters: Margaret Youngman, of Dale, Texas and Louise Walker, of Gonzales, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The Waldron News February 11, 1998 Obituary DARLE CHARITY SPRIGG Darle Charity Sprigg, 98, died Monday, January 26, 1998 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley, Colorado. Darle was born the youngest of eight children on August 28, 1899, in Red Oak, Iowa, to Albert Nathan and Luella (McGreer) Thatcher. When she was three months old, the family moved to Golden, Colorado. In 1915, she moved with her parents to Brush, Colorado. On July 10, 1918, she married S. Neal Sprigg in Denver, Colorado. In 1923, they returned to the Brush area where she resided until she moved to Bonell Good Samaritan Center of Greeley in 1991. Darle was a member of the Rankin Presbyterian Church in Brush, Colorado. She was a former member of the Rebekah Lodge, Morgan County Republican Women, World War I Auxiliary, Harmony Social Club, Brush and Midway Extension Clubs, WCTU, and East Morgan County Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Neal, in 1978, a daughter, Eleanor M. in 1925; three brothers and four sisters. She is survived by two daughters: Betty J. He was born July 23, 1935 in Booth. His age being 62 years, six months and 16 days. Mr. Wagner was the son of the late Bud Wagner and the late Tinnie Mae Phillips Wagner. He was united in marriage to Eunice Whisenhunt on July 14, 1956 in Poteau, Oklahoma. He made his home in Mena for the past 42 years. He was a self- employed cement contractor for 40 years, a member of the Oak Avenue Church of Christ for 23 years, and was a member and former Chief of the Acorn Fire Department. The Waldron News February 25, 1998 Obituary MARY RUBY WHITE Mrs. Mary Ruby White of Waldron, formerly of Mena, died Friday, February 20, 1998 in the Pinewood Nursing Home. She was born December 13, 1907 in Dardanelle. Her age being 90 years, two months and seven days. Mrs. White was the daughter of the late James Ivey and the late Made Patterson Ivey. She was united in marriage to William Jack White on April 22, 1931 in Shawnee, Oklahoma. Mr. White preceded her in death on May 28, 1982. She spent most of her life in the Arkansas 0klahoma area. She did odd jobs in her life and worked as a cook in a well known college. She was best known as being best wife and mother, which was what she wanted. She raised five children, the first born, Wanda Lee, died at the age of five. Then she lost another child at birth. She loved her husband very much, was of the Baptist faith, raised large gardens and canned a lot, and babysat. Survivors include four daughters: Laveina Carlee, of Hueytown, Alabama, Linda Elmore, of Mena, Darlene Taff and Deana McKinzie, both of Waldron; one daughter-in-law, Donna White, of Parsons, Kansas; 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons Billy Jack White and Bobby Lee White, and one great-grandchild, Christopher Wayne Elmore. He was a life long member of the Methodist Church and active in church work along with civic organizations of the town. He was retired from Waldron High School, where he was principal and teacher for many years and was Scout Master of Troop 17 in Waldron for 23 years. He was a graduate of Searcy High School, a graduate of the College of the Ozarks with high honors in 1931. He went on to the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he received his Masters degree. He furthered his education at the University of Columbia at Columbia, Missouri. Mr. Baugh was an avid rose gardener and shared his roses with former pupils, local organizations, churches and friends of all kinds.
