Issue of Sunday, May 14, 1989	

Malinda M. Browning, 80, of 2204 East Sixth Avenue, died Friday at Jefferson 
Regional Medical Center.

Born, August 5, 1908, in Lincoln County, she was a daughter of the late John A. 
and Ella Singleton Brookshire.

She was a homemaker.  She was the widow of Narvin O. Browning, whom she married 
December 25, 1929.  He died October 9, 1969.

She was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and the King's Daughters Sunday 
school class.

Survivors include three brothers, Walter A. Brookshire of Bonham, Texas, Bill 
Brookshire of Pine Bluff and Hubert Brookshire of Miramar, Florida; five 
sister, Sally Wooley, Emma Brookshire, Ollie Brookshire, Julia Cheshier and 
Ellen Willis, all of Pine Bluff.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Hale-South Funeral Home with Rev. 
Clyde Jones officiating.  Burial will be in Shell Chapel Cemetery on Highway 81.

The family will be at the home of Ollie Brookshire, 1901 East Eighth Avenue.  
Memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church or the American Heart 
Association.  Visitation will be from 3 (illegible) home.

Pallbearers will be (illegible), Alvin Cornish, Jeff Harrison, Aubrey Phillips, 
Elbert McCollum, James Craig, Guy Lemen and Gary Kelly.  Honorary pallbearers 
will be Henry Green, Donald Green, and Otha Davis.
