Glen D. Townzen, 86, of Rogers, Ark., died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, in Rogers.
He was born Sept. 22, 1919, in Newton County, Mo., to Albert Townzen and Dora
Henry Townzen.
He married Nadine Vanscoy on April 12, 1941. He retired from the University of
Arkansas, where he worked as a carpenter. He had been a member of Temple
Baptist Church in Rogers since 1955.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Townzen; and five brothers, Arthur
Townzen, O. L. “ Bud” Townzen, Howard Townzen, Charles Townzen and Earnie
Townzen.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Vanscoy Townzen; two daughters and sons-
inlaw, Phyllis Shook and Bob Shook of Tulsa, Okla., and Diana Pults and Eddie
Pults of Springdale, Ark.; two sons and daughters-in-law, Carroll Townzen and
Ginger Townzen of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Stanley Townzen and Dee Dee Townzen
of Rogers; a brother, Leslie Townzen of Bentonville, Ark.; a sister, Mildred
Smith of Rogers; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p. m. to 8 p. m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the Benton
County Funeral Home of Rogers.
Funeral services will be at 11 a. m. Saturday, Sept. 9, at Temple Baptist
Church in Rogers with the Rev. J. B. Manning and the Rev. Ron Fields.
Burial will be at the Benton County Memorial Park in Rogers.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Pults, Eddie Wiseley, Butch Wiseley, Tony Wiseley,
Darrick Shook and Jason Story.
Memorials may be made to Temple Baptist Church, in care of the Benton County
Funeral Home, 306 N. Fourth St., Rogers, AR 72756.

Glen was born in Centerton, Arksansas, not Newton County, Missouri. The error
