Omro Journal March 21, 1895 p.1

Mrs. Wm. Smith died at her home in this village, Tuesday morning, March 19,
at about 3 o'clock.

Mrs. Smith was born in Wayne county N.Y., June 12, 1816, where she lived
during the earlier years of her life. She was married to Wm. Smith on Dec.
31, 1835. For about two years after her marriage she lived with her
husband in her old home neighborhood, in Wayne county.

In 1837 she moved with her husband to Homer, Mich. At the last named place
she made a profession of Christianity and with her husband joined the
Christian church. In 1850 she came with her husband and family to Omro.
Here they united with the Baptist church. Mrs. Smith has been a most
devoted member, it being one of her greatest crosses at the last, that she
could not attend the church services. Mrs. Smith has been quite feeble for
a number of years. Her last sickness lasted about two months. She passed
away very quietly on Tuesday morning last trusting in the Lord. "Blessed
are the dead who die in the Lord." Mrs. Smith has numerous relatives,
nearly all of whom are living in New York. She leaves a husband, one son
and grand-daughter, of her immediate family, and the only relatives living
in Omro. Funeral services at the home this afternoon, at 1 o'clock, by the
pastor, E. G. Hamley. We feel like reverently repeating, "There remaineth
therefore a rest to the people of God"
