Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 17, 1951

Atwell L. Smith, 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Smith, of Norfolk, died 
Monday at 2:30 p.m. at Charlottesville.
He was a native of Columbia, N.C. and had been a resident of this section for 23 
years, residing at 2024 Oxford Road, South Norfolk, at the time of his death.
Besides his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Shirley Jean Smith; five 
brothers, Charles Smith, Gerold Smith, Cyril Smith, Marvin Smith and Richard 
Smith; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Jones, Miss Mildred Smith and Miss Sylvia 
Smith, all of Norfolk.
The body will be taken from the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, to St. Mary's 
Catholic Church for services tomorrow at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's 
Cemetery.
