Roberts presents his Petition praying for letters of Administration on the estate of Rebecca Roberts deceased and the said James Roberts not being personally present, it is ordered and considered by the Court that said petition be laid over for a hearing at the next term of the Court. Page 57: This day cones into Court Henry Scroggins and presents his Petition, praying for letters of Administration on the estate of Rebecca Roberts deceased and it appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that legal notice had been given and there being no objections filed; It is therefore ordered by the court that said prayer be granted and that letters of Administration issue in accordance therewith. And be it further ordered that B.M. Ballard, Harvey Woodhouse and Rufus Hamilton be and they are hereby appointed Appraisers to appraise the property belonging to said estate, and return an inventory thereof to the next term of this Court. Page 59: This day come Henry Scroggins Adm. Of the Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased filed his petition praying for the sale of the "Hogs", belonging to the said Estate. Wherefore it was ordered adjudged and decreed that said Administrators be and he is hereby required to sell said "Hogs" at late residence of the deceased to the highest bidder on Wednesday 21st, inst. on a credit of nine months. Be it remembered that on this the ( Twenty sixth day of February 1855) , there was begun and holden at the Courthouse in the Town of Kaufman a regular Term of the County Court of said County, pertaining to the estates of deceased persons present and presiding the Hon. John C. McCorquendale, Chief Justice of said County, S.E. Noble, Clerk of said Court and S.O. Gibbs, Sheriff of said County, Wherefore the following orders and entries were had. Page 60: Monday February 26th 1855: Order 7th; This day comes Henry Scroggins, Administrator of the Estate of Rebecca Roberts deceased and returns sale Bill of the property sold on the 21st day of February 1855 which upon examination by the Court is found correct. Therefore let it be ordered by the Court that the same be and is hereby confirmed by the court and ordered to be recorded. Order 8th: And be it further ordered by the Court that said Henry Scroggins, Administrator as aforesaid be and he is hereby allowed to sell all the personal property belonging to the Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased, at her late residence on Saturday the 10th day of March next, to the highest bidder on a credit of nine months. Order 9th: And be it further ordered that the "Homestead Place" belonging to the Estate of Rebecca Roberts deceased, be rented to the highest bidder on Saturday the 10thd day of March next for the year 1855. Page 62: (Termination ?) March 10th AD 1855: Personally appeared Henry Scroggins Administrator of the Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased and presents an inventory and appraisment of the property of said Estate which was examined, appraised and ordered to be recorded. McCorquendale, Chief Justice, Kaufman County Page 74: Whereupon the following proceedings were had and entered, 1st Ordered by the Court that Henry Scroggins Administrator of the Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased be allowed to rent on Saturday 12the day of January next, the farm belonging to Said Estate to the highest bidder for the term of Twelve Months. Page 91: Now at this Term of the Court comes Henry Scroggins, Administrator of the Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased and presents his final account and vouchers which were examined by the Court, Page 92: It is therefore ordered by the Court that all those interested in final settlement of said Estate cited to appear at the January Term AD 1857 of this Court. Then and there to contest the same if they see proper. And now at this Term of the Court comes D.W. Scroggins, Guardian of the person and Estate of the Minor Heirs of Rebecca Roberts, deceased and presented his Petition for the Partition and distribution of Said Estate. It is therefore ordered that the legal notice be given of said Application. Page 93: (part of the page cut off) Rebecca Roberts, deceased by his Letters and prays the Court that commissioners be appointed upon Said Estate to Partition and Distribute the Real Property remaining in his hands as Administrator aforesaid. And as shown by final settlement made at this term of the Court. It is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed by the Court that in as much as the requirements of the Estate has been completed with, that the following named person to wit; J.W. Terrell, George Michel and - (page cut off) Page 94: Order heard on Monday 26th January (page cut off) And now at this Term of the Court comes Henry Scroggins, Administrator Estate of Rebecca Roberts deceased and whose final account was examined and approved after the Court being satisfied that legal notice had been given and ordered to be recorded which Said Final Account this closes the fact that all the Claims of Said Estate have been fully (established /satisfied ?) and that there now remains in his hand s the real estate to wit 600 acres of land a part of the Headright of Wm H. McBee, also 320 acres the Headright of Wm. Newton McBee. Page 97: Whereas the Commissioners appointed at the January Term AD 1857 of this Court to partition and distribute the property of the Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased having failed from circumstances unavoidable to comply with Said Order of Appointment in respect to the time of return and whereas J.W. Terrell out of said Commissioners appears and prays the Court for an extension of the time for the performance of said duty, and the Court being satisfied that the service is necessary; It is therefore ordered that said Commissioners be and they are hereby allowed until the May Term, of this Court for the performance of said duty and return of their proceedings. (July Term AD 1857 Monday 27th) Ordered by the Court that the commissioners appointed at a former term of the court to partition and distribute the property belonging to the Estate of Rebecca Roberts be allowed until the next term of this Court to make their report of said distribution. Page 101: Now comes into Court the Commissioners appointed at the January Term of this Court to partition and distribute the property belonging to the Page 102: Estate of Rebecca Roberts, deceased and return a report of their proceedings which being examined by the Court was found to be insufficient being not made in conformity with Law. It is therefore ordered that said report be and is hereby rejected and said Commissioners be allowed until the next term of this Court to amend said report. Page 105: Ordered by the Court that the Commissioners appointed at a former Term of this Court to partition and distribution of the property belonging to the Estate of Rebecca Roberts be allowed until the next term of this Court to revoke their report of said distribution. Page 150: It is Ordered by the Court that D.W. Scroggins, John Haly and William Haley be and they are hereby appointed appraisers to appraise and return an inventory of the property belonging to Minor Heirs of Rebecca Roberts deceased and return the same as the law directs.
