 Stanley S. Smith 

   

Stanley S. Smith was born in Burnet County, Texas, the twenty-eight of May 1894, 

son of William H. Smith and Kate C. Holland Smith, both native Texans. Stanley S. 

Smith attended the public schools of Burnet County, later entering Southwestern 

University at Georgetown, and also attending the University of Texas. After 

finishing college he became connected with the Bureau of Internal Revenue, and was 

engaged in this work both at Dallas and Austin. In 1917 he was in the Quartermaster 

General's Office, later returning to the Bureau of Interal Revenue, with which he 

was connected until 1923, when he formed an association with Mr. Huddleston, known 

as Huddleston and Smith, Tax Accountants.



Mr. Smith was married at Washington D. C., to Miss Mildred S. Sloss, daughter of 

Milo M. Sloss and Sallie W. Wilson Sloss, the father a native of Kentucky, the mother 

of Texas. Mr. and Mrs. Smith have one child, Sallie Joy Smith. Mr. Smith is a Mason 

and an active member of the Baptist Church, and has attained the reputation of a 

tax expert.
