James Howard Smith 73,of Texarkana,Texas died Tuesday June 5,2001 
at his home.Mr. Smith was born December 16,1928 in the Rock Creek 
Community. He was owner and operator of James Smith Tree Services, 
a member of Souls Harbor Pentacotal Church, and an Army veteran. He 
was preceaded in death by one stepson,Donald Carr Hushelpeck ,in 1999. 
Survivors include his wife, Carol Hushelpeck Smith of Texarkana; three 
stepsons, Edward Hushelpeck, Thomas Lotana of Texarkana; and James 
Dean Beasley of Memphis,Tenn; three stepdaughters,Margaret Connell of 
Texarkana; Jennifer Johnson of Junction City,Kan; and Stacey Marie Flowers 
of Memphis,Ark; two nephews,Harold Smith and Michael Smith,of Texarkana; 
one neice, Patty Rhymer of McClurr,ILL; 11 stepgrandchildren; and one 
stepgreat-grandchild. Servuces will be 4 p.m. Friday at Souls Harbor Pentacostal 
Church with the Revs. Marie Ross, Eugene Ross, and Jim Krebs officiating. 
Burial will be in Rock Creek Cemetery,Maud,Texas under direction of East 
Funeral Home. The family will be at their home in Texarkana.
