JULIUS SMITH

  Julius Smith, aged 56, a well known employee of the Hillman Coal Company in 
Jerome died suddenly Sunday morning at his home, after suffering a heart attack.
  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna L. (Barnhart) Smith and these children: 
Robert, of Meyersdale; Mrs. John Hunter, of Central City; Mrs. Morris Straun, of 
Berlin; Mrs. Harold Berkey, of Acosta; Mrs. Joseph Whited, of Johnstown; Milton, 
Carl, Hazel, George, James and Paul, all at home.
  He also leaves 12 grandchildren and these brothers and sisters:  Bernard and 
George, of Meyersdale; William, of Texas; Mrs. Henry Deal, of Somerset, and 
Frank, of Colorado.
  The funeral cortege will leave the Smith home in Jerome Wednesday afternoon at 
1 o'clock for the Union Cemetery at Meyersdale, where burial will be made.
  After the services at the cemetery, services will be conducted in the Reformed 
Church, in charge of the Rev. B. A. Black.  The body was prepared for burial by 
J. N. Johnson & Son, of Berlin.
  Mr. Smith was born and reared in Meyersdale and lived here most of his life.  
His health had been bad for the last few years while living in Jerome.
