DR. ANNIE SMITH

  Dr. Annie Smith was a native of Adams County and a sister of Dr. George Smith 
who practiced at Greenvillage.  She came to St. Thomas about 1862 and practiced 
in this village and vicinity for about twenty years.  The last several years of 
her life she was an invalid and not able to do active work.  She left St. Thomas 
and died shortly after in Adams County.  While in St. Thomas she was married to 
Monroe McPherson and had one child, a son, who died very recently (1929).
