TYRONE TOPICS.

  Mrs. Irene Smith, wife of Sanford C. Smith, a son of David A. smith, 
of this place, died at the family home, 1239 North Washington avenue, 
yesterday afternoon at 1 o'clock, after an illness of one week's 
duration, of septicaemia.  The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 
William Calderwood, both deceased, and was born near Hannah Furnace, 
Centre county, January, 1868, and at death was aged 32 years.  She was 
married to Sanford C. Smith in 1889, and is survived by her husband and 
five children; three sons and two daughters, the eldest aged 10 and the 
youngest 2 years old, viz: Alva, Clifford, Florence, Dorothy and David 
Smith.  Three sisters also survive her, viz: Mrs. Joseph Heberling, of 
Pennsylvania Furnace; Mrs. Frank McClain, of Tyrone, and Mrs. Wilson 
McManamy, of Altoona.  Funeral services to be conducted by Rev. F. L. 
Bergstresser will be held at her late home, 1239 North Washington 
avenue, to-morrow afternoon at 1 o'clock.  Interment to follow in 
Tyrone cemetery.
