Margaret Smith

On Sunday at eleven o'clock, Mrs. Margaret Smith, wife of George M. Smith, of
Spring Hope, died, of consumption, aged forty-two years, seven months and
nineteen days. Mrs. Smith was a patient sufferer for several years and she
leaves bright evidence that death had no terrors for her and the grave no
victory. She was aware for some time, that death would soon be her portion and
prayed for it. She leaves a husband and six children, one about three months
old, and an aged father and mother, who, according to nature, will soon follow
her. Mrs. Smith was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob H. King, of this place,
and was a woman respected by all who knew her. The sorrowing friends have the
heartfelt sympathy of every one. Interment will take place today at the
Hoover graveyard and the funeral sermon will be preached by Elder John B.
Miller, her pastor.
