Estate Records of Hugh M. Edwards

Charleston Monday 10th. Dec~1838 The Heon Probate Court met according 
to adjournment-Present the Heon E. Jenkins Esq. Judge~G.B. Coodman 
Sheriff, By his deputy M.W. Watkins E. Wilmore,elk.                

Hugh M. Edwards intestate Letters Granted On Motion of  Isham S. 
Watkins for letters of Administration on the Estate of Hugh M Edwards 
deceased late of said county and the court being fully satisfied that 
said Hugh M. Edwards died interstate and the said I.L. Watkins having 
appeared in Court and executed his Bond with George W. Johnson and A.W. 
Davidson as his securities in the sum of Two Hundred dollars which Bond 
is approved of by this court and the said I.L. Watkins having taken the 
oath prescribed by law for his faithful performance as Administrator.  
It is further ordered that letters of Administration be granted the 
said Isham L. Watkins on the Estate of the said Hugh M. Edwards, 
deceased.  It is further ordered that R. G. Canthon, Thomas Jones, and 
Chesly Jones be appointed the Bomn of Charleston and having taken the 
oath required by law proceed to run and appraise all the personal 
estate of said deceased and make due return thereof under their hands 
and seals of office of the Clerk of this Court-and that the said 
Administrators make and return an inventory of all the goods, chattles 
and persona estate of said deceased and make due return thereof to this 
Court.  It is further ordered that publication be made in the Grenada 
Bullatin a News Paper printed in the town of Grenada of the granting of 
said letters of Administration.  It is further ordered that the said 
Administrator procede to sell the personal estate of said deceased on 
credit of twelve months
