13 Dec. l865. Answer of JOHN A. SMITH, adm of goods & chattels of GEORGE
W. CAMPBELL deceased Washington marked through; Geo. W. written above),
to petition of Almarine Cranford. He admits all the facts stated in said
petition except those hereinafter specifically denied or qualified in
some manner by this answer. Entirely denies that the children of JOSEPH
R. CAMPBELL & the grandchildren of MARTHA CARAWAY are the sole heirs of
said GEORGE W. CAMPBELL Decd, but he states the truth to be that ELIZABETH
SMITH (wife of respondent) is also a sister of said GEORGE W. CAMPBELL, &
being such, is an equal heir with the children of said JOSEPH R. CAMPBELL
& grandchildren of said MARTHA CARAWAY to the estate of said GWC. Said
Elizabeth is still living & resident of said county & is entitled to one
equal share of all the estate of said GWC decd. Respondent states that he
believes all debts of said estate have been paid by him. He however
insists on his right to a refunding bond from each of said heirs. He has
this day filed an account which presents a true view of condition of the
estate in his hands & of the state to be distributed. The amount to
be distributed is not the amount mentioned in petition of said Almarine
Cranford.

Dec. Term l865. Final A/c of JOHN A. SMITH, adm of GEORGE W. CAMPBELL

Sept. l870. ELIZABETH SMITH states that her husband JOHN A. SMITH
departed this life some time in the year l870, & that he lived at time of
