        used throughout these legal documents, i.e.: RITCHEY, RITCHIE, RICHIE. We know the
        spellings are all of the same Andrew Caldwell RICHEY family.

The State of Missouri
        To any Judge, Justice of the Peace, Mayor or other Chief Magistrate of the  County
        of Hickory in the State of Missouri:

        Whereas a paper writing purporting to be the last Will and Testament of Andrew  C.
        RICHEY, Deceased, late of the County of Cooper in the State of Missouri, has  been
        produced for Probate which is hereto annexed, and

        Whereas it is suggested that A. H. FOSTER, Thos. DAVIS  and  Mark  L.  MEANS,  the
        witnesses for the said instrument of writing, reside in the County of Hickory.

        Now therefore, we, reposing special trust and confidence  in  your  integrity  and
        circumspection, do command and require you that you cause to come before  you  the
        said witnesses, and do take and certify the attestation of said witnesses to  said
        instrument of writing, and let the said witnesses make oath in  affirmation  “that
        the Testator signed the said writing hereto annexed as his last Will and Testament
        and that he was of sound  mind  at  the  time;  that  they,  the  said  witnesses,
        subscribed their names thereto  in  the  presence  of  the  Testator  and  at  his
        request.”

        And having taken and certified the attestation and testimony  of  said  witnesses,
        you send the same with this commission annexed, closed  under  your  Seal  to  the
        Probate Court of the County of Cooper in the State of Missouri.

        In Witness Whereof, I, Charles H. SMITH, Judge of the Probate Court within and for
        said County of Cooper, have hereunto signed my name and affixed the Seal  of  said
        Court at Office in the City of Boonville, this 14th day of March A.D. 1856.

        (2) Know all men by these presents: That I, Andrew C. RITCHEY, of  the  County  of
        Hickory and the State of Missouri, being of sound and disposing mind do  make  and
        ordain this my last Will and Testament.

        1st - It is my will and desire that after my death all my just debts be paid.

        2nd - It is my will and desire that my wife Nancy RITCHEY shall have all my  money
        and other personal estate of every description to use and enjoy during her life as
        she may deem proper.


        3rd - It is my will  and  desire  that  my  wife  Nancy  RITCHEY  shall  have  the
        possession, use and enjoyment of all my real estate consisting of one hundred  and
        sixty acres, on which I now reside, during her natural life and  which  said  real
        estate is described as follows, to wit: The North West quarter of the  South  East
        quarter and the South East quarter of the North West quarter and  the  North  East
        quarter of the North West quarter and the North East quarter  of  the  South  West
        quarter of Section Fourteen in Township Thirty-seven in Range Twenty-two.

        4th - I will and bequeath unto my grandson, James William BRADLEY, who is the  son
        of my deceased daughter, Rachel Matilda BRADLEY, the sum  of  one  dollar  and  no
        more.

        5th - It is my will and desire that after the death of my wife Nancy  RITCHEY  all
        my personal property remaining on hand and all my real  estate  as  herein  before
        described be sold and that the money arising from the sale of said property,  real
        and personal, as well as the money on hand,  if  any,  shall  be  equally  divided
        between and amongst my children hereinafter named, to wit:  John  Dennis  RITCHEY,
        Nancy Caroline RITCHEY, wife of John W. RITCHEY, Polly Ann HAZLE, wife of Ignatius
        HAZLE, James Samuel RITCHEY, Andrew Caldwell RITCHEY, William Simpson RITCHEY  and
        Thomas Marion RITCHEY.

        6th - I hereby appoint my son, Andrew Caldwell RITCHEY, my  executor  to  this  my
        last Will and Testament.

        In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set  my  hand  and  seal  this  28th  day  of
        September, A.D. 1855.

        Be it remembered, Alfred H. FOSTER & Thos. DAVIS, two of the subscribing witnesses
        to the foregoing Will, personally appeared before me, William PAXTON, Judge of the
        Probate Court of Hickory County in said State and being by me  duly  sworn  depose
        and say they saw the within and foregoing named Testator, Andrew C.  RICHEY,  sign
        the foregoing instrument of writing which he published as his last Will; that  he,
        the said Testator, was at the time of sound mind and over the  age  of  twenty-one
        years and that  these  deponents  attested  said  Will  as  witnesses  thereto  by
        subscribing their names to the same in the presence of the  said  Testator,  which
        said proof is deemed by me sufficient to establish said Will.

        The Dedimus and Will thereto annexed of  Andrew  C.  RICHEY,  Deceased,  with  the
        examination and attestation of Alfred H. FOSTER  and  Thomas  DAVIS,  two  of  the
        subscribing witnesses of said Will and proceedings upon said  Dedimus,  were  duly
        returned, opened and filed on this the Ninth day of April, A.D. 1856, and the said
        Will having been produced for Probate, and  the  proof  of  the  said  subscribing
        witnesses taken pursuant to the  said  Dedimus  being  seen  and  read  and  fully
        understood: It is Considered and Adjudged by the Court that the said  writing  was
        duly executed by the Testator, Andrew C. RICHEY, and that the  same  is  his  last
        Will and Testament, and the said writing is hereby confirmed  and  established  as
        the last Will and Testament of  the  said  Andrew  C.  RICHEY,  Deceased,  and  is
        admitted to Probate.

        And, whereas, Andrew Caldwell RICHEY, the executor appointed in and by  said  last
        Will and Testament, having now here filed his declination to act as such executor,
        on motion of Ignatius  HAZELL:  It  is  Ordered  by  the  Court  that  Letters  of
        Administration with the Will Annexed on the Estate of the said Andrew  C.  RICHEY,
        Deceased, be and they are hereby granted to the said Ignatius HAZELL, who  entered
        into bond as Administrator as aforesaid in the penal sum of Two  Thousand  Dollars
        conditioned according to law with James G. BROOKING, Edward  HAZELL,  and  Timothy
        McGUIRE as securities which said three are now here approved by the Court.

        In Testimony Whereof, I, Charles H.  SMITH,  Judge  of  said  Probate  Court  have
        herewith subscribed my name and affixed the Seal of said Court at Office  on  this
        9th day of April, A.D. 1856.

        deposes and says that he will make a careful inventory of the estate of Andrew  C.

        Andrew C. RICHEY, pay the debts and legacies as far as the assets will extend  and
        the law directs, render just accounts and faithfully perform all  things  touching

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

        That I, Ignatius HAZELL, as Principal, and James G. BROOKING,  Edward  HAZELL  and
        Timothy McGUIRE, as Securities, are held  and  firmly  bound  unto  the  State  of
        Missouri in the just and full sum of Two Thousand Dollars to the payment of  which
        sum well and truly to be made unto the State of Missouri. We bind  ourselves,  our
        heirs, executors and  administrators,  jointly  and  severally,  firmly  by  these
        Presents, sealed and dated this the Ninth day of April, A.D. 1856.

        THE CONDITION OF THE ABOVE BOND IS, that if Ignatius  HAZELL,  Administrator  with
        the Will Annexed of the Estate of Andrew C.  RICHEY,  Deceased,  shall  faithfully
        execute the last Will and Testament of said Deceased, account for, pay and deliver
        all money and property of said estate, and perform all other things touching  said
        administration required by law, or  the  order  or  decree  of  any  court  having
        competent jurisdiction, then the above bond to be void,  otherwise  to  remain  in
        full force.

To The Honorable Judge of Probate:
        The undersigned Administrator, with the Will Annexed, of the Estate of  Andrew  C.
        RICHEY, Deceased, would respectfully represent that the cow and hogs mentioned  in
        the Inventory of said estate were at the time of the death of  said  RITCHEY  (sp)
        and at time of filing said Inventory in the County of Hickory in this State,  that
        said cow was sold by an agent of the deceased pursuant to  power  in  him  vested,
        after the death of said RITCHY (sp) but before the fact was known  to  said  agent
        for the sum of $15.00
	And that the hogs were found to be wild, in the woods, and not in
a condition to be secured and delivered to a purchaser, and in consequence,
said Administrator made a sale of the charge of them in a lump sum of 	     9.00
	He sold the horse and saddle at private sale at appraised value of 	   62.00  
       Total amount of	 $86.00.
        The undersigned believes the above amount to be a fair price for the property sold
        and under the circumstances he asks that said sale be approved.

        You are hereby commanded to notify Ignatius HAZELL, Administrator of the Estate of
        Andrew C. RICHEY, Dec’d. , that he be and appear before the Judge of  the  Probate
        Court at the next term thereof, to be held at the City of  Boonville,  within  and
        for the County of Cooper, on the first Monday of October, nigh, then and there  to
        present his accounts for settlement as Administrator as  aforesaid,  and  to  show
        cause as to why an attachment should not be issued against him for not  exhibiting
        his accounts according to law, and have you, then there this writ.
